For an environment, this does not make sense to me. How about rephrasing as “Must have a minimum of 3 views from various angles” or something along those lines?
Should the entries be exclusive to this contest and not be published ever before?
And if entry is completely new, and submitted to the contest, can it be published after that,
but before winners announcement?
That’s what I want to know too. I’m not planning on doing proper textures for anything. And since 2D techniques for the final image are allowed this rule sounds strange.
Thank you, excellent point, we’ll revise.
Hi, we’re working on getting a firm answer on this for you. Thanks!

Hello, all are welcome to participate! If you are outside of the areas listed in the Terms & Conditions you would not be eligible to win the physical prizes, but you are still eligible to win an exclusive CGSociety feature. Thanks!
Is it possible to work together? not solo.
Is kitbashing on 3d models will go against the originality rule?
Hello, where I post my work in progress? thank you.
If you go to Rules and Intro, and at the bottom of the page ‘‘Eligibility’’ it says:
‘’ Entry is limited to individual artists, so team entries are not eligible. ‘’
Good luck ^^
Hi! Please post in your portfolio (you can use a separate folder within your portfolio if you like) and then select the correct category from the GENRE list. Thanks!
Under the creatures category is says biped or quadruped. Can you have a four legged creature with two arms or a two legged creature with four arms/appendages? Those are would still count wouldn’t they? I have a couple of ideas but don’t want to pursue them if they technically don’t fit the brief.
Cheers in advance!
Will there be any penalty if I don’t submit anything at the final day?
Hi all, here are the updates on the Environment rules:
We are looking for unique and one of a kind environments
- Environments must include at least one original creation or architectural element (model).
- Users much submit model WIP views of their original created assets.
- (Judges will favor entries with more original creations/elements, but kitbashing and paintovers are allowed.)
- Kitbashing is allowed but must include at least one original creation or architectural element (model).
- The final submission must be a rendered still image using your 3D software, or a dedicated renderer.
- Must have 3 different renders of views of your environment
- Applications like Pixologic, ZBrush, Allegorithmic, 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, Photoshop, etc. can be used.
If you need additional clarification, please let us know. Thanks!
Hi, as Kuramisora mentioned, teams are not allowed for this contest. Thank you!
Hi Jonathan, Yes, that’s fine. Thanks for checking!
Hi, you may not be eligible to win if we don’t see your WIP images in the gallery by March 2nd and your final images by March 9th. Thanks!
Hi, Yes the images should be exclusive to the contest. These are to be unique pieces created for the contest.
If you can prove that the image shared elsewhere was uploaded after the close of the contest (after March 9th), then that should be OK.
“You must be a resident of next countries (It’s only for privileged countries)”…
So I can’t participate because my country not in list? sorry Its looks racist…
