Yes, I think… well depends what do want to show… Somteimes the framebody is not important.
I you want to show the framebody is another story like interstellarOverdrive is planning.

Well I wil glad to see those Videos

Cheers!

#19

Hey guys!

Well, in my specific case, I don’t really know a lot about what’s inside a car. My knowledge about it is quite superficial. So for me, right now, ther’s no point on trying to recreate a perfect copy of the framework and mechanics. I just want it to fill the emptiness with some details where needed, to work fine from a rigging point of view and to be pretty enough visually.

I’m already working on the suspensions rig while I model.

Here an unpdate!

#20

Nice…!!!
Glad to see some details.

I will love to see that rig !!!³³³

#21

Yesterday I worked on the tires:

//youtu.be/C7m0cIvJ7ug

More details soon!

#22

still working on the wheels:

Suggestions on the rim and tread design are appreciated.
Cheers!

#23

HM! I just one thing I dont like it!!!³³
You are the only one you have your script. :buttrock:

Just kidding.
THANX FOR SHARING this video.
You was using your script right?

It is a really nice detailed Tire.
Looking forward to the next modeling part

Cheers! And happy modeling!!

BTW… I will like to learn how to rig like this

#24

Hey man!
Sorry for taking so much time for answering. My creativity was a little bit stuck during the last few days. :banghead:
I’m back to this project now!

Yes, I was using my plugin. I didn’t really had the chance to test it untill now and now I have a better idea of what should I improve about it.

Soon I’ll post some more updates and some rig details!

By the time I’ll get to the actual rigging stage I might decide to share my process or maybe part of it! I still cannot predict my future though. So, keep your fingers crossed!

#25

Hi jacopoS,

Dont worrie for the late reply. You was also available to helping me in these days
Extremely appreciated!!

Glad your back on this one!!
If you need any Hard Surface help, just let me know.
I will for sure help you on this one :scream:
BTW. I will follow your updates. That script for the car is driving me crazy. I really like it.

If you will like to keep your rig a bit in secret… dont worries I can understand that

Fingers all are crossed ³³³
The best for you mate!!

#26

Thank you, mate! I’ll surely ask you a few questions along the way.

Here some more mechanics and stuff:

#27

Sure. I will totally glad to help you.

Those mechanics they are looking extremely good ³³

jacopoS
I have a question.
Where I can see those rims?
I couldnt find any info about those rims.

#28

well… I just invented them.
I wanted them to have a strong off-road design but at the same time I wanted the inner brake disk to be visible.
What do you think?

#29

OOPS! Taking a look on your last post of the Rim there is sentence that I didnt saw.
Sorry about that.

Well I like the rim looks really good and close to the design of picture here:

I will suggest you to put that kind of nipple where the logo it is.

I cant really see it correctly, but did you pull the edges straight forward?

Im sepaking from the arms in direction to the break.

BTW:
As you can see the rim looks (compare to the to the tire) in your case way too small.
I will make the rim bigger than the tire.

As I said in my thread. If you take real measurements this will help you

The measurements for the wheel are:
255/60R18 aprox.

I know you now this, but just in case or for those are looking on your Thread and they dont know!

#30

Hi Xavier, Thank you for the feedback!
I’ve adjusted the overall proportions. You were right! While making the rim I was like “yea, whatever…” :arteest:
It should be better now. The bolts are probably too far apart though. I’m sure there must be some rule for that as well.

Do you mean the blue area in the picture below? In that case, yes.

#31

Hi jacopoS,

Yes looks much better :keenly:
For the bolts this is the must accurate Info I found on the web.
Bolts Specifications
But in your case looks more or less correctly. I cant tell it 100%, but looks accurate.

For the blue areas. Yes I meant that.

I will suggest you to give an angle. They looks great your rim, but with an extremely hard cut.
Is just a suggestion. No body is going to take a look on that like me
Giving the rim an angle you will see that your rim is going a change and in a good way

#32

Hey man!
I took your suggestion about the extrusion angle and I like it much more already. Thank you for that!
I kept working a little bit more on it:

I’m probably going to leave the bolts the way they are in the end.

#33

Hi Mate!!
I like the angle you gave. For me looks much better.

About the bolts.
Yes, this an extreme detail that you dont really need it.
They lookk good where they are.

I will move to the next instead of working on the bolts.

#34

Hi Xavier, thank you for your help on the rims. That was really appreciated!

One step at a time, we are getting there!

#35

Hi everybody!

I recorded a short video of how the front axle rig is working so far.

//youtu.be/yCvTwrJ89-Y

And I started reworking the front. This is an area in which I would like to go quite detailed!

Comments and critiques are always very welcome!
Cheers!

#36

Just awesome !!!

I have just one thing to add.
You need to ad a bit of angle to the wheels. But careful on that

You can see my rig under:

//youtu.be/IFBPT_Typpo

Not a perfect rig like yours, because I was lazy to add all the components  but I gave my best
For my BMW I will model more parts

Have fun !!!
+
Merry Christmas!!!

#37

Hey man, thank you!
Your rig looks actually very nice. I’m probably even lazier than you plus I’m not even a car expert. As I sayd some time ago, I just want it to look pretty enough.
When you say that I need to add an angle, you mean around the Z axis. Right? (I’m using Y up)

Thank you very much again for your support!
And merry Christmas to you too!
