Marco, great work. I can’t believe the change since you first posted this to the class forum.
I like this a lot… loving the lighting and colors
now through a little cam move and animation in this and it will be perfect
Dude I love what I see here. this is really badass! you have achieved a great darmatic mood.
Inlakechh: I love the details and the concept behind this image, what ruins it for me though is the clouds behind the vuildings, they take up too much attention and keeps ,y eye out of the buildings itself.
DOn’t get me wong I like it, the clouds themselves aer very well done yet they just seem to steal the limelight away.
again, amaziong work man.
Thank you all for the feedback.
Really appreciate your crits, eyecon. I get your point that the clouds and the buildings look similar in colour and values especially on the right side close to center. I decided that opening the sky would be the needed thing for selling the mood of the image, which was my goal on this one. Aren`t the clouds a key for helping defining the scale in the image ?
Hi, I agree with you. Like I said it’s not bad at all. In fact its an amazing piece of work. I would probably have to cross oceans in order for me to create something like this… okay I think I stretch that too far. HAHA.
What I meant though was that yes its amazing, but what makes it look not so realistic is the sky. Although thats not so important as a case since you might want it to look that way which is cool.
But if I was to create a realistic image and with scale as a factor, I would simply create clouds that would cover partially the tallest building and have it drawn in a perspective manner dissappearing in the distance. Create a sky that shows depth rather than look huge. You already have a wonderful depth right there, you can utilize that by making your sky have that same sense of depth.
Above all, what is most important is the look that you are after. If your after for something like this, then its very very cool and two thumbs. If you want a cinematic feel and realism, then I might consider changing the sky.
Cheers man, hopefull I make sense to you.
I am selling my wacom on ebay, giving up matte painting now I have seen this, absolutey amazing…

Well done mate, time for me too look for a new hobby, LOL

Ah eyecon I thought you were mainly talking about colour and values of the clouds.
Got your point ;). But I think that the overall look is the biggest part that makes it rather stylized than absolutely photoreal. Thanks for the comment.
Rich, come on … there have been many matte paintings on a much higher level than this in this forum. Im still far away from finishing a matte in the quality that I imagine. And please dont make such jokes
… stay with us on the forum, dude.
