hi all…
first time post my character… hope everyone like this…
i am using 3dsmax ps…

Character Vanship Pilot
Real nice textures!
The eyes look a little flat maybe you could pull the outter corners back a bit or the inside corners a bit forward (or both). Also you could diverge the pupils and iris group out a bit more, looking into the distance cures that cross eye thing.
Computer hair (if its not photoshop) always looks a little sad, like someone had a heavy kimotherapy sesion. It looks thin and wispy, if that is the intention this is fine, mostly however hair falls in groups to give it body, with a few straggelers to make it more believable. Most of the stuff I see is made up entirely of straggelers and it increases your render time no end.
Great stuff, looking forward to more!
thanx for view kanga .and thanx for your advice…
i really agree with u about the eye and the hair…

kudos on the subject. last exile was an amazing series. now to the model.
at first look, it looks like a rather young pilot, but he has facial hair, and it looks out of place. its got more to do with the facial structure than anything else. big eyes dont help him look his age either. id suggest changing things like the jawline or cheekbones, maybe the lips as well, to help with an age consistency
id have to agree on kanga about the hair and eyes as well.
everything else in the model is really good, except minimal texture stretching here and there.
look forward to an update!
is there some texture stretching around his neck? i don’t know what it’s called and i don’t know if it’s ‘suppposed’ to be like that, but i figured i’d mentioned it since no one else did.

This is my first crit, so sorry if I don’t know what I’m talking about.
First: I love… LOVE… the goggles. I just wish there was more to make me look at it and say “Oh ya, that’s a vanship pilot!” I assume there will be an enviorment for him too… Then it would be awesome… Loved those clouds they did in the show.
Second: The stretching I see ( I think) is on the left side of the leather thing around his neck, in the folds. Also, if it is leather, there might be a bit too much gloss?
Third: The red turtle neck sweater seems like it should have actual vertical folds in it (displacement most likely, but a bump at the least) based on the texture.
Last: Dang, I wish I was good enough to make something like that!
rocking
you have some really nice texturing skills going… but you must address those
stretching issues - particularly on the coat leather lepal.
keep up the gr8 work.
major texture stretching around the collar. work on that and you will have yourself somthing nice
