Character: unfortunate human male

#1

Thought I’d start a WIP for this guy. Deadline on the project is fast approaching so I’m having to leave some bad stuff in the mesh for the sake of getting this thing finished.

He’s unfortunate as in the story he’s going to be skinned alive! He does some dancing and stuff, then his skin is peeled off, revealing a man made of fire underneath. I initially wanted the skin to just burn away, but the client didn’t exactly understand how hard peeling skin would be…

Anyway, mesh is done and uv-mapped, I’ve made a start on the colour map. I’m using Maya particles for the fire effect (more on that later) and hopefully PRMan for all the shading.
Currently just finishing off the rig - he’s got IK/FK arms and reverse foot with SDK’s controlling the rotation of the back and hands. I’m planning on following Steven Stahlberg’s method of attachment with a wrap deformer and blend shapes to deal with any nasty deformations

C&C (small changes please!) welcome…
