I have a character that is comprised of the following items:
Body (Head and Hands)
Eyes (Sclera, Iris, Pupil and Cornea)
Teeth and Gums
Tongue
Cotton Shirt
Wool Pants
Full Vest with the following components:
Suede Front and Back
Leather Sides
Brass Buckles
Leather Laces
Leather Straps
Metal Rivets
Belt with the following components:
Leather Base and Straps
Brass Buckles (different from vest)
Brass Rivets
Boots with the following components:
Leather Uppers
Rubber or Hard Leather Soles
Leather Laces
I intend to use this character for an animated film.
How should I approach the shader(s) for this character? Should I create one shader for each component of the character? Or do I create some type of grand shader (maybe layered)?
I am guessing that I would create one shader per component. However, that seams like a lot of shaders. Or maybe that is normal?
