Character Rig: Head losing shape


Hello, I’m working on my first character rig in Maya and I’m currently stumped on a problem with the head. After binding the skin, I rotated the head control to test it out, but the head doesn’t hold its volume. Instead, the head stretches or deforms unnaturally, losing the original shape. I’ve searched around the internet, but I can’t find a solution yet. How can I fix this?




go to skinL>edit skin>paint weight tool

paint all your character skull area with the influence of 1(white).


Thanks for the help! The neck bone had influence over part of the head. :smiley:
