Character Portrait

#1

Hey everyone, I thought I’d post this protrait here to see what everyone thinks. I’m learning how to paint in photoshop with more traditional ways, trying to figure out different techniques and such. This took about 5 hours. I know I should have spent more time on the drawing, but I figured it’s okay for a quick protrait, I’ll do better next time.

Crits are always welcome.

Very nice painting

I’m not sure if all the facial features (eyes/nose/mouth) are places correctly, the face looks a bit skewed to me, but from a colour/style POV your panting works really well

I’m so glad you all like this.

brkofdon - Thanks a lot, I’m glad you like my stuff. For this piece, yeah, I was trying to figure out more of just what you can do with Photoshop.

Falcore - Thanks for your kind words.

jawine - Your right, the face anatomy is off. I didn’t spend enough time on the drawing, and didn’t follow through well enough with painting the structure of the face. I’m glad you like the way the color is though.

jack_sparrow - thanks alot.

gnoue - Thanks. Yeah, just use some of the textured edged brushes on different opacities, the long thin brush at different angles, and look at how texture grain works in real life and try to apply that to your painting where it needs it.

direndra - Thanks a lot.

JARhead - thanks, I’m glad you like this.
