I’m learning to model and texture human beings, and this is my latest work. The modeling was done in 3dsmax 5.1 using polymodeling techniques, textures were hand painted in Photoshop with a Wacom tablet. Image was rendered with Brazil. Eyebrows are now only in texture, but I’m trying to come up with a better way of doing them.


i like the modelling (the ear could probably need some work…) but the texture is a little weitd (espacially the bump is to high imho) and his shirt looks strange…

I don’t comment often, but I had to say something about this.

I’m not sure what to make of it…

It kind of looks cartoony, but the textures look so real. It’s an interesting style, I’m not sure if you intended it to be that way. It looks good nevertheless. The ear could use some work though. The outter bit is too thick, and I don’t think he has an ear-hole.

The wrinkles and everything are great.


Nice character, great textures, but I agree with retrop, the ear could do with some work, and maybe the shoulder section.

Thanks for all the comments. You were right, the ears were a bit funny. I used the push-modifier of max to bloat the face out to get a rounder look and forgot to exclude the ear verts. Here’s a remodeled version:
