Character: Lavian.

(This may end up on here twice…)

This is my first submission, so I’m a little nervous… And confused. However, the character’s name is Lavian. She’s a vampire who is very human, she hides her true nature, often.

Any thoughts would be appriecated. Tell me what you think I should change, what you would have done differently. What I could improve one. And let me know what you liked about it.

Erh, I didn’t… but it’s Geocities… So it’s probably acting up… I’m going to go look into it. grumbles. I’ll probably have to get an account at another host.

There! It should work now. crosses fingers.

Working now

Use more highlights and shades to give it more depth will look much better

Right now the picture looks like early 20th century poster art, rather than an “interior illustration” type of piece.

If you want to go more towards a painterly illustration, and if you really want to keep the line work, you might try varying the width of the lines in each area of the drawing. For example leave the lines alone around her hair, but make the lines that define the waves and hair direction much finer/narrower (they can even become a color that more closely matches the color of her hair). The same goes for her face. By using a finer line, you suggest more delicacy in her features.

It all depends to how you want to use the image.

Thank you for your comments, I’m going to start working on another picture of her this weekend, or monday. Depending on when I get time. This time I’ve got a few things in mind, not to do it at night with bad lighting, and to keep in my all of your comments.

I believe I meant to change the lines to certain colors, but I forgot about it somewhere around five am, when I brain died.

However, thanks for your input, I’m sure it’ll help next time.

really needs some shading,. but cute nonetheless!

At around the time that I finished clearing up the image, getting the lines right, and putting down the base colors… I forgot that blonde have rather dark shading around the roots or where there is darkness. As well as light skin… Bad Loka. smacks self. I find that it’s better for me to do art when I’m.

A. Not distracted.
B. Not been awake for several days straight getting about two hours of sleep each day, and being fairly active those day.

Anyways, I’m going to stop rambling…
