Character: Jaguar head

I don’t know if this counts as digital art cause I only did the colouring in Photoshop, starting with a sketch on paper based on a photo.

After scanning the drawing, I used a number of different photos as a sort of palette to sample colours from and then started painting, with the pencil lines Multiplying through. I later added a transparent black layer on top with an invisible mask and then started adding bits back in by painiting on the mask. This created the shadows.

The background was a few random brush strokes with some filtering applied and some playing about with layer masks.

I really love big cats and the paintings is nice. Maybe some more contrast could help get rid of the washed out look that it has. Maybe some highlighted strands od fur on the edges of the head.

…damn i just can’t draw animals :cry: … … your jaguar is good thougt …but he looks like ripped out of something …maybe you should try to make some contour …:shrug:
