[Character] CHINESE WARRIOR Low poly

#1

Hello everybody!

Here’s a low poly character I made for my portfolio. I have many cartoon like characters so I made a more realistic one for a change.
I took different references, the head is one of my vietnamese friends, the costume is taken from a HK film and well the rest it’s me

Polycount: 5400 polys
Texture: 1024X1024

I hope you’ll like it!

That looks really good, I like the life in the characters face. Great work for a low poly character (although it is quite weighty) great style and subtle range of expression. The figure appears to be well rigged and very effective. The clothing is very well done in particular and presents a realistic well rounded and detailed traditional dress.

the textures look pretty good but there are proportion problems with your model. the waist is way too low. making the legs short and stubby while the torso is long and tall. you need to bring the waist and knees up a great deal respectively. i think if you fix that then you will have a very nice model on your hands.

great job on matching the orginal sketch thow…

i’d say to make his boots a little more detailed … maybe some dirt/mud on the lower parts.

I like it.

Thank you all. Sorry for the late answer but I was working

Yes the legs seems a little short because of the large pants, I took the proportions from my vietnamese cousin and asian people don’t have very long legs
(That’s why they look so great when they’re posing in the “mapu” position, the “horse rider” position)

I’m trying right now to animate him doing a Sabre tao, it’s very tough…

Very cool style!
