Character: CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD

#1

Hello Everyone, Been wanting to do a piece with a hologram for the longest time and needed to produce another cover sample, which seems like a waste of time. It’s not perfect like the pro work in this section but can’t stop trying right? Photoshop 7

The background looks pretty monochromatic compared to the figure, but the figure looks really well

I must say I can’t read the story from just the picture, he looks vigilant but it is not clear to me that this is caused by an attack

yeah just teh background is a little flatter than the rest, but you really can’t tear it down just for that, it’s a great pic. :buttrock:

#4

Some really impressive work Eric…Keep it up

I my opinion th backround is good, couse it makes you to focus to the Character and other stuff in the front.

Thanks for responding.

I wanted to play with a mostly monochromatic color scheme this time. wanted to control the use of values to make the holograms work. The story is for my own satisfaction. just thought I’d share.

Great image inspiring also. I think the hologram is fine it just needs the trasparencies and haze that you put on the hologram to the left. I think it’s great thankyou for sharing now I need to post something as well.

So where were we…

Hackers need girlfriends. Nobody should have that much time on there hands. Oh well cool news,

This image will be used as the cover of the science fiction book club August book catalog. If the A.D. sees this, thanks for choosing my piece.

just remembered… poor banano is gonna have to register all over again.

I think I recall seeing your other work. One in your avatar, that was great!! and so is this one. I really like the detailed work you did on the face. His eyes are exceptional!! I do think his blue shirt is a little weird though and the background a little flat. But that’s just minor or could just be me.

:buttrock:

[EDIT] Your life drawings were inspirational.

Hi, Sorry to bring back dead threads but I thought I’d share the cover that my image was used for. There’s some great new cover art for books by some of my favorite Illustrators shown inside.

Congratulations Eric, you’re a great artist. Keep doing what makes you great

#16

very nice work

Thanks for posting leif3d and xservo, glad you like it. I wasn’t too sure how this piece would do on the forum. I’ve been getting new commissions based of the exposure from this piece. I’m still trying to improve and learned many lessons from this that I can apply later on.

Congratulations on getting your work published. Excellent image and the composure is awesome.
