Character: another sad android

Hm, one day sad androids will be as clichee as crying Pierrots or Elvis on velvet… But! While there’s still time, here’s another. :slight_smile:

Based on a simple 3d scene in Maya, painted in Photoshop. A cover for my screenplay. Thanks to all who helped.

Interesting one Stahlberg.
I dislike the black outline around her, especially noticible about her right leg.
I’m not sure what good the screwdriver does for her when her entire arm is missing. More like extreme android frustration.
Good luck with the screenplay.

I’ve followed the two other discussion threads on this piece. I like that you went with the teardrops on the floor, and the barrette in her hair is a nice solution to showing her face. Who knew! Would you ever consider changing the screwdriver to a knife? Was just thinking that it could double as a screwdriver in a pinch and would suggest that the removal of her arm was self inflicted and even a bit desperate. Either way, I’d hang this in place of my velvet Elvis any day. Beautiful work.

did she cut herself, the arm, off?
just some ideas:
how about adding some blood (if this thing on the floor is a knife)
and her cut off arm? … it will show us how she hates her life as an android.

Nice Piece,

It has a strong emotional feel to it. I like that she has this defeated, I give up look. The screwdriver is a perfect touch. Real tears or drops of eye servo lubrication fliud? :wink:

Very nice. I actually kinda dig the black outline - gives it cartoon element - but could definately work w/out it.

Creative idea as well… I’d like to see what was done in maya tho!

hmm, I followed your wip, very interesting. I still think the outline screws it sorta, especially because of it being so thick.

the text works very good, congrats on that.

Yeah as others have mentioned I also think it would be even nicer without the black outline but still great image :thumbsup:

i think her only hand against her forehead would show more meaning of the blues. good drawing though

I think is good, I like the black outline it makes it more stylish. The screwdriver is a good touch of not desesperation. Good job my friend I wish I could do sking tones like that.
