Changing the Universal "Delete Key" of Maya

Hi All,

Is there a way I can change the “Delete Key” of Maya to another key say Alt+4 or so. The reason is the travel to delete is just a bit far.
There is the Hotkey Editor but there is a separate hotkey for several delete command.

For instance, there is a hotkey for Delete Keys, Delete Vertices, Delete Edges.

I just want the one Delete Key to rule them all. #evil laugh.

Is there a way around this?

P.S. The reason for this thinking is in C4D, changing the delete key, also changes the other delete key commands. I’m wondering if there is an equivalent Maya command.

Nevermind this thread.

The doDelete; command actually functions as the key to rule them all.

I use it a lot so i have assigned it on my mouse instead. I have Logitech mouse and assign one of the keys to it (scroll wheel right push - button). < Alternative solution if you have extra buttons on the mouse.
