I recommend the book Ray Harryhausen: An Animated Life for the fans out there.
You can even do a search inside the book on Amazon. I might have a stab at Trog if I have time.

#6

Great idea - gonna participate - So do we model the creature exactly as Harry did - in which case I’m looking at either Dioskilos, the skeleton, the troglodyte or Sabre-tooth. Time depending…

1 question - do we have to texture too or is this truly just a modeling exercise?

#7

The Master!

Havent got time to participate but will follow everyones progress with great interest. Sweet subject

#8

This is a really neat idea, I’m really looking forward to see people’s progress in this. So many different choices to model!

We are live!

I actually did a load of dvd caps of talos/medusa a long time ago for a project when i was studying 3D at college. If anyone has space to host them I could try and dig them out.

I found this really cool link today after some searching. Most of the movies have a small gallery of stills from the films.

Here are some photos from the Berlin Movie Museum, I stopped by after work. No photos are allowed so I apologize for the exposure and bluriness - if you want a larger version, just PM me.

Thanks for the pics I don’t see the beast from 20’000 fathoms there but it is all good. Looks like a cool place to go just for that. Maybe next time I’m in Germany.
