You know you could make it into a composite challenge very easy. Just composite someone on a rolling beach in a realistc fashion. I am sure you can do it.

I’ve started a post for my entry and you can find it here

Wish me luck.
heh
i was browsing game news yesterday and saw this link
so i think it could be interesting for u wave guys… the main difference btw this and your stuff is that this waves are REAL TIME… i drop the jaw when i saw it

Don’t think I’ll have tie for this, but isn’t waves on a beach harder than a rolling ocean? Fluids interacting with objects is difficult.

Count me in, ill be trying for the Ship or Open Ocean. And this is my first challenge… Looks awesome, good idea!
I’d say so, too, yes.
Also because when waves break, geometry physically disappears.
Cheers,

Roberto, why exactly does the first post of this thread contain the text "CgTalk:FXWars! THE OCEAN
SIMULATION WAR
by BEN BOLIN"
did I suggest this at some point? I don’t mind getting credit, but I don’t remember suggesting this topic. It’s a good one though.
I think I might try to participate in this one too. I’m a newbie in those things and recently I’ve done one ocean storm in Lightwave. I don’t know if it qualifies for the FXWars or not, I just like to hear some opinions from professionals. I only have to convert it to QuickTime, because I’ve rendered in *.tga format and then merged it in *.avi, so as soon as I convert it I’m gonna post it in here.
