The grey suite of unemployment:

PS and Tablet about 1 hr.

#8

Wow. That’s … wow. Nice one.

#9

Alexis Alcazar -

Nice concept and sketch. That grey ball dude looks pist that he is just grey instead of a color.

#10

Something over an hour in PS, based somewhat off a photo I took, I hope that’s allowed.

#11

Really nice one advarsky…
very nice Creeto…
I don´t know what I was thinking, but this is mine… PS + wacom about 40 min…

#12

errantspark - nice sketch there. I think photo references are ok but it is frowned on to copy composition. I’ve been working on attempting original compositions with some added photo reference for details. But I’m new to the sketching forum so I don’t know for sure besides what the rules state. And I’m new to using a graphics tablet and PS to sketch with so I’m really in a newbe learning mode.

Great job Advarsky and errantspark.

30 min, I recorded a video too for youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGSWkOqBiDo

Thanks, I like yours as well, although I don’t like the hard edges on the bits of the tree that are sticking out, they’re very jarring as the rest of the piece has a sort of nebulous sketchy quality to it.

Since this is a NTL challenge I sketched a couple more. I liked the Grey Whale idea and I think the MacMini is kinda grey or looks mostly grey:
I sketched the whale scene too large but I thought it was great practice anyway…
The Grey Whale… Nod to advarsky for the inspiration…

And here’s my practice with sketching solid objects (Grey MacMini):

Thanks Errantspark, yeah I was just experimenting with the lasso tool!
and it was all timed so I didn’t give it an after thought! but now I look at it,
I realise that it really sucks! Lol

#17
