So a little back story on this and why it fits into “Journey”…

Growing up near old Route 66 in the MidWest I have always been inspired to someday make the ol’ Route 66 journey in a car that is pushing preferably a lot, and I mean a lot of power such as a modified old muscle car, classic car or rat rod. Growing up right down the road on 66 there was a big round red barn that is a historical landmark and was the inspiration for this piece. For the vehicle I took a lot of influence from the new Camaros and the new Mustangs. Mostly the Camaro being a huge Chevy fan but there are a few other styling cues I tried to incorporate from other old muscle.

...and plus the fact that I will jump at any excuse to draw a vehicle being an avid car/truck lover, I just simply couldn't resist.

Hope you all enjoy and I look forward to seeing lots more great posts today!

~daw I really enjoy your sketch, especially the overall mood and perspective that you’ve chosen to put your composition into. I’m quite inspired by this piece, and it makes me want to redo or spend more time on my sketch that I’ve done for the “Dreams” challenge.
