Really nice sketches everyone!

I ran out of time - waay before I felt that i was finished - still messing around with too small brush strokes early on i think.
Anyway - here it is after 55, might try and work some more on it if i get time.

iPhone Brushes, about 15 minutes with a bathroom break in between … all that water.

There’s a movie of it on my blog if you care to see the process:

Too bad I can’t calibrate my iPhone monitor. The colors come out very muted once on my desktop monitor.

First test with painter 11. Does anyone have any brushes online. I am sure someone has modified them to make a nice workflow. Now I want to go see some demos and learn how to build up a painting. Yeeeee haaaaa I had lots of fun just going with it here. Anyone know of some good tutorials and demos that are Goodbrush style?

@PD - 45min, that is amazing. What is your workflow, how do you start your paintings?

There’s nothing special about it. I’m just trying to establish a rough composition early on, by blocking in big shapes. I’ve incorporated some textures in this piece, which helps to make it seem more finished than it actually is. It’s still extremely loose, none of the forms are developed. I hope the gif helps a little. For some reason i had the character layers collapsed, so it’s just a single step now

Interesting you mentioned Craig Mullins(goodbrush.com). I find myself looking at his work a lot lately. He has some tutorials on gfxartist.com: one, two, three, four.

Wexter: Nice work! I was thinking about going a similar direction at first too, but was scared of the many lights

mine may need a bit of explaining. when i lived in mexico during heavy rain the streets would flood with rapid waters from the hill side. we would ride on the streets in tire tubes. i was under ten then but for some reason i painted my self at my current age :stuck_out_tongue:

photoshop 1.5 hours.

edit. so i decided to ad water = 15 more minutes. tho i like it graphically better without but it didn’t make sense

edit: i’m also not white, but that wasn’t supposed to be me.

@PD
Thanks, it sure seems simple. I like the idea of throwing textures into the mix to get a more complex look out of it. I will give it a shot. Have not looked at the demos you posted. Will check them out right now.

Thanks again

Hi, very nice sketches here:thumbsup: Wexter’s night scene is very enjoyable.

Me, simply a blue jay enjoying the sun patch after the rain is gone:)
Took about 45 min using PS.

Ozkorg mate, that is really bloody nice. Nice heavy saturated feel but nicely balanced palette really gets that atmospheric feel. Great job.

All it’s missing is like a robot wasp or something.

#15

lots of nice works here!

after taking a shelter, she’s stretching out her arm to check if it’s still raining

CP, ~50mn

Animatio, thanks for the nice words mate, much appreciated

And, yea the robots and the stuff like that - I’m culturally handicapped when it comes to those kind of things but I’m slowly learning how to like them;)

#17

Gah, I miss rain so much. Why I thought moving to a desert would be a good idea eludes me.

Photoshop, 40 min.

mate, i was sincerely joking about adding robots. it’s the last thing you need to add round here! cgtalk is pretty well served for that stuff.
