I really got carried away with this one. More than 7 hours. This time I decided to try starting with black and white shading and then coloring but so far I’m finding it more difficult.

This is a version saved at less than an hour.

Very good posts here guys! Creeto and Okzorg i like the perspecitve choices a lot, and both full of great detail. Okzorg i like the color choices you made, maybe because the lighting is so well done.

Thanks Rabid1, I never like my colors and I’m surprised that you find them good. I like the colors other people use in their sketches but feel terible when I have to choose mine, I wish someone else like you or Creeto choose the colors for me:)

Ha your funny! If you’re interested, here is a link to an adobe color site which is full of interesting color combinations and patterns. It might help you with some of the decision making?

http://kuler.adobe.com/

And if you find yourself interested in learning color, here is an in depth article on color theory-
“The Dimensions of Colour” by David Briggs

Hope this helps.

Thanks Rabid1, I already have the Adobe link in my bookmarks but I will check the other.

Okzorg, i actually like your coloristic choice. the complements are singing pretty good together i think

as for color pallets, i must say Photoshop is a superb tool

something most people miss in Photoshop is the nice possibility to extract colors from pictures
they use the color picker instead of using the built-in tool. a shame really
i’ve built my own pallet(s) but i still use the extraction tool from time to time

this also allows to “move” pallets between Photoshop and Painter which i find very handy

Thanks for the encouragement Creeto, I really like and enjoy the colors of your paintings.

And thanks for the color extraction tip in Photoshop, I wasn’t aware of this feature and will check it out.
