The Tiger and her two tiger-children llived nearby a farm killing some cows. The rangers tried to relocate them. They catched the children but the mother escaped. Days later they found her. 4 rangers each sitting on one elefant surrounded her. In this situation she turned furious moden on and escaped again. Lucky dude I would say - She frazzeld his arm and broke him some fingers. What happend with in the end doesn´t read there.

Hey fellas, how’s everyone doing tonight?

I finally found the correct settings for getting good Maya results compared to the ZBrush mesh… Took me a while :stuck_out_tongue: Didnt really have time to do displacement test renders… anyway, here’s a couple of beta renders… I need to do a second pass in Z, cause there’s plenty of areas I’m far from happy about, it was just a 30min Zpass to be able to render something… Anyway, hope to have time to do a decent pass this weekend… although my displacement render crashes at level 4 :frowning: wont be able to go passed 3, which is a bummer to say the least… I need stable stuff!

Edit Thanks a lot Val!

Oh on another note; 4 hours photoshop, with wacom and a chocolate hangover

Is no one on this thread from anything other then Europe, so I have someone to talk to when everyone’s sleeping? oh well… let’s watch Sleepy Hollow for old time’s sake… posted enough wip to allow craptalk

I’ll be looking forward to see it textured

Yeah me too :S While walking to school this afternoon (had deliberations for the classes I am teaching, and there were no busses so I spend about 40 minutes walking there…) I saw a black horse and while looking at it’s skin and fur I got totally depressed by the way the highlights behave… this is gonna be hard one to crack…

I’m, starting today, a computer hater!

I’ve just had a day filled with bad luck and wasting time; in other words, typical day off… wished I had stuck to playing games all day… anyway;

 • walk of 40 minutes to school…
 • motherboard gets fried this afternoon…
 • since I should be working tomorrow, I went to get a new one
 • while installing the board, my case was resting on a screwdriver without my knowledge; when the screwdriver jumped from underneath, the case with my drives and new mobo, fell about 2 cms down on the floor…
 • after installing windows, I got a missing file error, so I reinstalled windows, I got errors every 2 secs that cd couldnt be read… I have no spare drive, it’s past 2100h and tomorrow, on sunday, no shop is open… cant reinstall windows and this azerty laptop of my brother SUCKS…

Still, this morning, a friend of mine called for a while, and I don’t really care anymore :stuck_out_tongue: I’m going to catch a movie and go to my parent’s place in the morning…

Sorry, no image; though I did paint a pretty picture of the situation didnt I?

Derby~Q,

Sorry to hear about your computer troubles …I’m sure we can all sympathize. Lol, painting a picture of the situation, that’s a good one!

Well, here is my latest update from the OFDW 012:

Miles to go, but at least it’s improving…

Cheers,

I like it, Becca!..sharpen, sharpen and then it’ll be perfect!

I may be wrong, but in that article, doesn’t it say that ‘luckily, the elephant cow was blind in the left eye and so did not see the tiger coming?’

I have a question…I have to submit a piece or two for an art auction. Suggestions for pieces? I’m not a ‘fine artist’ type, so I’m not sure what type of works people normally buy at art auctions.

Tips?

A bit of quick work on the background characters, not too much though (about 2 hours) since today is the last full day with Peter before he goes off to his new job in Amsterdam…hopefully I’ll have this finished in the next week or so…

I’m not too sure whether to tighten the shading up to make it more photorealistic or to keep it more loose and painterly like this…I haven’t started texturing or detailing anything yet.

Becca: Looks really cool at the moment ^^ Looking forward to seeing the finished thing.
Wim: That horse looks real nice too
Therry: It really does come down to in the end just what you feel your art is worth, then bear in mind that an auction is very volatile - from what I’ve seen, if a piece started with a ridiculously low price it would tend to escalate to a much higher price than the same piece starting at a moderate bid as it gives the audience more time to think about the piece - although that is risky. Er, and I got those thoughts from my Gran forcing me to watch “Bid up” and “Car boot” whenever I go and visit her, so it may be best to ignore me…

Yay, update time! And without further ado, here are the images:

Right, added texture to the walls, pillar sockets and space for paintings/mosaics and a lightmap for fake shadows from the glass  (I know it looks strange, but it’s for realtime use so it will look strange in the end  will try to make it look better though) Uvs on domes are screwed up so they need to be fixed, floor needs a texture and then there’s some general tweaking of everything :D

Hope you like it!

Oh yeah, the black figure standing on the other side of the pool in the last picture is a 1.8m/6’ biped for scale reference.(cross-posted from my bathhouse thread)

Derby, really nice horse you got there! Sorry to hear about your extreme computer troubles though… I hope it works out

Therry, art auction? Coool… I hope you make a million pounds! No idea what to sell though… Paint splattered on canvas? Worked for Jackson Pollock ;)

#813

Ailsa, that looks fantastic!

Peter, congratulations with the new job!

#814

Nice work people, Elsie, turning out amazing, really! Peter, thanks and nice work! I think you should try to mess around with glow, do you work with Maya? Also, a tiny bit of dof and fog would give some nice effects, the fog, not so much as actual fog, but more like little dust particles being illuminated by the sun… Gives a very divine intervention look

Clip, I love your Birthday card, though I doubt it should be picked, if it’s for an auction…

On another note, I figured my dvd drive was the cause that my win installation didnt work, it was really my harddrive that’s busted… that’s 2 harddrives in 1 month… bloody hell, I definitely need to have my DVD writer fixed, if this problem affects my vault (which is where I store my work, used to be two drives mirroring eachother, super secure, hence the vault, though one of the two allready is busted so…not so much of a vault anymore) Anyway, if I’d lose my work, I’d die!

Oh I’ve become a computer hater, check my title
