Hey all, been a bit busy with paid work and moving and stuff… did this for a competition, took about 3-4 days here and there, its still unfinished as I ran out of time… Currently doing a final render, and Ill post it once its done.
Sucks to run out of time. Would love to see you finish this in any case.

Today I had a great day, probably the most important day of my life!
I passed my 1st DAN exam in Karate 
And a picture ^^
I like it, derby! That would make a great model, it reminds me of a pixar character…you should try that!
I’m home for Christmas now, yay, off until Jan 8th! I’m not sure I told you, I’m doing pharmacy now, lots of work but I love it. But now I’m on my holidays. You know what that means…back to the wacom I go, it’s been far too long…
How’s everyone doing these days? Come on, everyone, check in and let us know what you’re up to! Not just work-wise either.
Oh and I want to see how mini-marlon looks these days.

In the meanwhile, here’s how I’m doing:
Ah no! That’s terrible- I hope you get some of the insurance at least…but the point isn’t the money really-- it’s the fact that they were so, well, rude. That’s an incredible understatement, I know. I’ve had things stolen before and it’s the most major invasion of your privacy possible. It takes a while to forgive and forget…are the gardai on the case? The best thing you can do is just not think about it for a while…it’s not like thinking about it will make it go away and it’ll only serve to make you angrier, from my experience.

Man, that sucks Marlon, I hate the most that there’s a guy who get’s away with doing something to you, when they broke in in our place, I felt like I was living in a house without doors or windows, completely exposed, bah.
Here’s a picture of the exam btw, I’m the guy at the left side of the picture, at the right is my older brother and in the middle there’s Kim, the girlfriend of my trainer (who is dressed in black as opposed to us… He seems proud don’t you think ^^)
Theresa, yeah, the police are on the case, but our case is like 1 in 250 cases of burglary… these thiefs are pros though, no doubt bout that. Only thing on my mind is that lost tape and the pics of my son on the laptop.
Wim, yeah that’s the feeling we have too. We have new locks now and we’re going to place guard lights around the house.
If I continued my Aikido training I would have gotten my 1st dan too by now. Yeah, I’m a lazy b@stard… 
Since this is a photo thread, here’s how they managed to come in.
They managed to turn the key through that drill hole beneath the keyhole.
And they managed to push the button and turn the liver through the second hole.
These were no junkies or amateur’s for sure.
I hope they catch those people and recover your tapes and pictures Marlon.
As for me, my business is really taking off. Doing a bunch of cool projects currently and have some sweet things in the pipe. So far we’ve done zero advertising and the projects keep rolling in.

I know how you feel > had the same two years ago > they took everything they could carry. Had a loss of over 2500 euro. If they worn gloves there´s no chance + no witness to help finding out there´s no chance to get back anything.

I’ve done Kenshikan since I was 6, but now I’ve been doing Shito Ryu for the past 2.5 years. The style developed by Sensei Kenwa Mabuni from two influences (Sensei Higaonna (Naha Te) and Sensei Itosu (Shuri Te)). Kenshikan is the Shito Ryu form that was developed by Sensei Kusano, a student of Tani, who was in turn a student of Kenwa Mabuni. I really liked the quality of Kusano Ha Shito Ryu, but they had more of a “My way or the High Way” way of thinking and eventually when it turned out to be all about the money, we decided to head out and to go back to the roots and work more towards the principles that the grand masters used to have, which is more of a knowledge gathering way of thinking… There’s advantages and disadvantages to both styles, I think having them done both will pay off…

Nice, pretty cartoon style especially! If I had time I would start with aikido as well, now that I’ve got the 1st DAN in karate, I might be able to take on another martial art and my sensei says it’s the perfect addition to karate, who’s like 2nd kyu in aikido, next to his 3rd DAN in karate…

This is one of the buildings I worked on as a texture artist while at Streamline Studios last year. It was textured using custom textures as well as using textures created by other people at the studio for efficiency reasons. Modeling was done by others. The building uses less than one 1024 texture for the whole thing including normal maps, specular maps and other stuff. The image is a compilation of screenshots from within 3dsMax. No postwork done to the image except putting the different elements together.
