CGSociety Photo / WIP Exchange
something about japan when i see it in the rain i just love it more and more
definatly a place to visit when im older.
You rock Jason.
Howās Japan going? I knew you were GOING, but I didnāt realise your were there already! Which school did you end up going to?
Hey there⦠ehhrr, i dont know why i usually never enter the members forum, i kinda forget its there, but anyway, i saw this thread and it catched my attention, there is very cool and fun stuff in here.
I kinda feel like when you enter a party and you dont know anyoneā¦but⦠ahh what the hell, iĀ“ll post some pics
I havent seen pics around here from Venezuela, so here we go:
This is the view from the roof of my building, i live very near of the lake of Maracaibo; too bad that a few years from now a really weird plancton or weed has been growing in it and have been covering up a huuuge part of the lake, in some parts it looks like a golf court⦠seriously  , and the smell its not very nice, but well, the goverment its taking care of it (or so they say).

This is the view of the little park and the pool of the building i live:

This is a group of friends and i in the pool, we used to get together very often but as many of them are getting graduated from uni, and im extremely tied up with my tesis project, well we havent had enough time ⦠This was earlier this year:

This was an invitation i did for a party i was going to have in the pool (critics welcome), i like how it turned out, but the party had to be canceled because something bad happened that weekend  :

And these are some of my friends juggling with fire in the pool; they are really good at it, and i have a blast taking pics of them:

Well, thats it, hope you like some of them, see ya ![]()
Hello, Jason. Cool photos.
Wow, Daniel. Wonderful photos with the fire-handling. What kind of camera and settings were you using? With a tripod?
Cris
Hey Cris, thanks a lot
You know, i didn“t do anything fancy when i taked those pics, i basically push the button, really.
Let me elaborate a little bit; the pics you see there where made with to different digital cameras, nothing out of the ordinary, one was an olympus with 3 megapixels and the other a kodak of 5mg.
With one of them, the olympus, the only thing i had to do to get that effect was to turn off the flash, and voila⦠i could see the trail of the fire. With the kodak one, it was a little more advanced, so i could manipulate the shutter speed, so i just had to slow it down, to like⦠1 second or something like that.
And no, i didn“t use a tripod for any of them, as you can see for the erratic movement in most of them
. I supose that with a tripod it would have been better the result.
bonefather - wow japan is big
shy dude - is cool invitation card, sad u couldnt have the paty then
them firestuff looked cool too
.
Looking good, Robert. I have a few questions. I havenāt figured out how the piece over her chest works. At first it looked like it only lay on the shoulders, most of on the backā¦now it looks like it has lengthened, but is it tucked in at the waist? I see the breast partially exposed, so Iām a bit confused.
The spear looks a bit thin as does the sheath (although the spear is what really caught my attention). I am figuring that you plan to close the hands on the sword and shield.
I look forward to more detailing.
Cris
Thanks for the crits, I need to fix the cloth over her sholder, it tucks into the belt on the front and back, underneath is a leather chestplate that has one breast exposed, tied to that is a greek armour sholder plate, the coth tucks in through the back of this. I also need to fix up the spear as you said, the sheath is actually the right size, the sword fits inside it, Ill rotate it a bit to get a better view. The hands will be properly rigged tomorrow. And I need to make a plume too. Thinking about ground details but they are not as important.
Very nice update Robert.
Great pose. Maybe twist the head a bit to the right to emphasize her cautiousness a bit more.
I think itās better to have her wearing the sheath on her left instead on her right. Her swordhand is her right hand, so the way it is now, it would be a bit uneasy for her to draw her sword. Especially when she has to do it quickly.
I also noticed that the spear is fastened on the shield with strings. The strings look kind of thin and fragile.
Nice updates Airflow, itās getting there. In addition to what the others mentioned, I also think the helmet is looking a bit plasticine-like.
Iāve just got back from a holiday in Spain with my folks, so itās time for me to get cracking with work⦠Photos may follow when theyāre developed.
Here's another photo of near where I live taken with a clunky old Krasnogorsk Horizont panoramic camera from Russia. It's a swing-lens camera like Jeff Bridges' Widelux, so there's plenty of cylindrical distortion. I've left it nice and scrollable for Bonedaddy's benefit. ;)

Geez! they do keep my busy at my work hahaha⦠Well we have been having mad hours of OT this last few weeks, and before that I was in training⦠so yeah okay I have no excuse. I missed you all! I can believe I havent logged on for so long⦠hm⦠so how many pages of WIP photo exchange do I have to read to catch up
How is everyone? We got quiet there for a while. Nice images, Mark. I like the update, Robert.
I just put up a new piece in my gallery.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Cris
Cris, very nice and classic.
Robert, nice update. I think the swordhandle looks a bit thin tho, just a bit.
Hereās something I did yesterday, trying to get a grip on environments⦠

I come bearing photos from the land of the rising sun!
First off, found somewhere in Harajuku, proof that someone on earth actually appreciates this goddamn monstrosity:
A picture of me holding the sunrise on top of Mount Fuji, at 5 am:
And some pictures I drew for my classes to explain Halloween (a little big, so here they are in link form):
