Like Peter said, we were both there a week or two ago when we were visiting my mother (who lives half an hour from B’ham) - if you’re going there Therry, look for these really weird things we found in selfridges there from a company called “edible” O_o!

Coffee that had been picked by “specially trained monkeys”, and also coffee that had been picked and digested by civet’s and weasels…!

BBQ flavour worm crisp, anyone?

Green curry with crocodile fillet O_o, pearl dust (“sprinkle into champagne”) and aphrodisiac pearl and white chocolate paste.

Snake venom lolly (I had one of those, seemed to be the only thing without anything living in it and I wasn’t too sure as a vegetarian just where I stood on eating bugs :P), scorpion toffee, and an ant-peppermint lolly. There was also a tequila flavour lolly with maggots and larvae in, but I seem to have forgotten to take a photo of that one.

Vodka with dead snake and dead scorpion (I read about these before, old french thingies apparently. They drop the creatures in alive, and they release their venom as they drown, making it very good for blah blah…) and giant hornet honey with a dead giant hornet.

Should make for an interesting dinner party…

#2309

I bought the ant and worm lollies for friends and a bottle of scorpion vodka for me and ailsa

#2310

I’ll buy one of these and report back to you on the taste!

Which one do you think i should go for?

#2311

Try the smoked maggot kebab with a centipede Caesar salad and wash it down with the monkey poo coffee. For dessert, flaming rodent gelato.

(you asked)

#2312

Just a little update on the dragon piccie

What a strange shop. and Indeed weird objects. Peal dusts sounds like some slang for some sort of heroin O_o.
Clippy- just nab everything that looks edible… or well… that you think you’d be able to eat whitout setting some gag reflexes going.

#2313

Yeah, I’m not sure what I’d think if someone bought be a maggot lolly. Have fun Paperclip, I’ll try to keep a straight face when you give your report… My mate swears the sorted tea and coffee is great (once you’re addicted to coffee beans, you only pick the best), so I’d go for that.

As we seem to be on a bit of a Bullring theme, here’s another pic (although at the opposite, Debenhams end from Selfridges):

and one inside (click to open):

Arg… Double post.

twiddles thumbs

Woo… That dragon pic’s coming along nicely LadyMedusa

#2315

My Lady, I thought the dragon on the right was being chased by the dragon on the left but the left dragon’s wing is now in front of the right dragon. That may have been done intentionally to bring the creatures closer together and explain why the right dragon is lighting up his main weapon.

I love how you’ve made the fire twist as if the dragon is really flying and the wind is affecting the flame. I’m not in love with the fact that these are two different dragons with the exact same coloring, although now that I think about it a zebra striped lion chasing a zebra striped zebra would be kind of cool.

#2316

Oh yeah, the dragon wing- I’m going to paint over it  and I’ll probably add some stripes or spots on short-tail. Was acctually going to be a race, but I think that just the 2 dragons alone might be a little more intresting, Long-horn fighting short-tail like

Ick- shops at christmas times :s, So overpacked whit people.

#2317

Yeah, I noticed the wing cross-over, but assumed that it was because you hadn’t painted the right dragon yet.

#2318

gotta say i don’t like seein animals in cages, I know some of the
animals in zoos are there to help them not die out n stuff, but
still it feels sad to see tigers and bears pace restlessly around the
same circle in a small cage

so anyways we wents to the zoo, me and 3 friends from work and
here’s a little how it looked like. Thats us there eating strawberries
and cherries, just before the ferry trip to the zoo island.

then a few select animals , the tiger that seemed too small , well maybe
it was cause it was in a cage and the Big vulture that really was THE thing
to see there. It was from somewhere in russia and it was huge, really an
awesome sight to see live when it opened its wings and glided past you.

Tellin u, if it were any bigger than that, the bird coulda carried off that bear
cub in the lower left corner

(that plane, had to take a pic cause it looks like a DC-3 or sumthin, I didn’t
know they flew such anymore. Well, i been meaning to buy one, but other
than that)

Next image:

the dude who took the pic of three of us on the bench wasn’t himself so easy to take a
pic of…

some kangaroos, i didn’t know they used the pouch any more when they were that old,
but there it went. Kangaroos were smaller than i thought, too.

That camel ,now , i dunno, it looks like it’s falling apart, heh,
shedding all its fur, never seen such , weird.

then there’s a lazy peacock sunbathing on a roof , and that pile of hair on the
ground is a emu, another animal that i thought would be a bit bigger.
Speaking of small things, they must’ve been having troubles to get interesting
animals in the zoo, cause in one corner they’d put a glass behind which was just
a few hundred cockroaches.

Those canadian geese i included cause there were like dozens of them all around
with their hundreds of babies

.

#2319

Through a trick in the lighting, and possibly the angle, it looks like the dude that is eating the strawberry is wearing a skirt. But who am I to observe other cultures?

I have a hard time with zoos too for the same reasons you do. That camel looks like it’s part of the Uncanny Valley Alliance.

Great photos, as always. We should all post our stuff like you do.

#2320

hehe yea, those are shorts tho

finally all work done for the day and i can begin my holidays, yay

starts scanning the net for good gigs n stuff in the neighborhood
