Regular old lake ice can be black if it’s glassy clear and hard. Someone’s been riding a motorcycle across this one. Sadly not me. Cursed Scandinavian non-winter!

Myridiphis: Nice “aqualuminescence” in both water and ice! Reminds me of the stuff I’ve seen in arctic and glacial photos.

DrPetter - thanks, few weeks ago I did a study of such photo, so this time I tried to apply some of gained knowledge. Unfortunately, I messed it up with the black stuff that leaked from the ship :slight_smile:
