Just beautiful, Creeto! Fantastic! :buttrock:
(odd choice for smily, but well)
Sazem, I like it, too, because it shows spontaneity. I think it’s much easier to learn from these quick paintings then the noodly ones, you know. Look at Creeto, his boldness with contrast, because he just knows exactly what technique he needs to get the depth he wants and he can play around with his color choices and have screaming light where he wants it… objects lit with the same boldness. He’s in control.
We…eh…not so much, hahaha. I used to be a lot naughtier, easier going… currently I can feel that I’m holding back, but not by going slower, but by not believing in my ability enough to permit focus, so to say. It’s weird, because I literally know I can do better, but there’s this idiotic little devil in my head, haha.
So, yeah, quick sketches are the way to go and to a good deal the idea behind the whole daily sketch thing. Doesn’t have to be quick, of course, but…anyway.
I think I’ve been staring at the monitor for way, way, way too long. Gotta get out more again.
Hi again guys!!
Has been a long time, pretty pretty works here
Here is the mine, 24 minutes no image reference and made on AzPainter:

A greeting!
Yeah I agree Taron! (and Creeto is pro hehe)
I think im holding back too… but bit by bit I suppose getting better. Just working hard and banging your head against wall…
I think I should start put more “brain” into the learning part and try think more areas where I should improve and make more practices in those areas.
You guys got any ideas where to start?
Ian: Nice and clean colours, I like, maybe the different sides of the window sill should be different shades?
Taron: Silly but a little creepy at the same time.
Tomas: Looks like a good abstract wallpaper.
Sazem: Nice colours.
Creeto: Inspirational as usual. I don’t know how you do that in 25 minutes.
MrKrabju: Interesting use in colours
I was trying to get the whole ‘sun rays through the trees’ thing… with pencil. It’s difficult. Ended up looking pretty messy but eh, may as well post it.
25 Minutes.

Ah, fun stuff, thanks Kevin!
I just had another idea for a quick experiment. This time I was again kinda stunned how quick it went, but well…tried do doodle lens-flare and -reflections. Just tried to remember without ref, so don’t rip my head off, please, hehe.
(12min) Verve

Excellent, Taron! That’s certainly more beauty-focused. I love the contrast between soft foggy atmosphere and hard rockface. Sometimes a bit of “airy softness” blending across silhouettes can make a big difference in image harmony, but you really did a whole theme with it here.
Creeto: Nice work economy. I suppose you’ve used patterned brushes to make all those spindly branches in such a short amount of time? Definitely good tool application, I guess you’re really at home in Krita now?
Thanks, yeah, I’m warming up a little, hehe…
BY THE WAY, you should consider making an avatar real soon, because I’d love to push for a new round of Avatar themes like in the olden days, hehehehe. I just had some fun ideas that could make a great new avatar mayhem!
We used to do that, like “Avatar Wars”, where you’d pit all avatars against each other somehow, or put them in some funny theme. We’ve had plenty of laughs with that.
Grrrrr…I need to do my darn brush-engine soon, getting anxious with excitement again! :bounce:
Allright, Taron. Just so happens that I drew a little guy earlier today who would be just swell for an avatar. I’ll go with that one for now then.
Here’s the uncropped version if you’re curious: http://drpetter.se/dump/hellbarber.jpg
Got inspired by a dude posting Quake fanart on Twitter, so I guess that service isn’t completely useless!

I just had to when Taron said about the old avatar wars
Also I was learning Manga studio 5 tools for comics. So I kinda got two flies at one hit ![]()
Maybe I should become comic artist. Took me almost all day but I enjoyed every bit!
Haha, that’s so much fun! Great job! And the establishing shot with the sun is very pretty too.
I don’t think my demon avatar would go down quite so easily though… Maybe there will be a rematch and we’ll find out?
haha for sure DrPetter! I definitly think in real situation I would lose your demon (its actually freaking scary!)
OMG, HOW DARE YOU!?!:wip:
Your poor avatar will be exhausted, when the real battle-post comes!
(And I sense that drpetter is catching on to it already!)
(LOL, and Why am I a sheet of paper?!? I sure will remind you of my form soon enough!)
But, yeah, that comic strip ROCKS, dude!
atleast you recognize yourself haha! I was trying to sketch you as some sort of a spirit trapped in that avatar form in the corner hehe. I took some liberties with the avatars cos I the small avatar dont tell all the info you really need (I made Creeto as asian monk)

I had this idea, if we ever had avatars wars again here… we could make a character design topic of our own “characters” before. You could practice “character design” and it would help with the avatars wars when other people could refer your own design about your character… oh well just a thought
THAT - my friend- is a BRILLIANT idea! I totally love it. What a great topic that will make. No idea how to name the topic…maybe: Your Avatar Alive?!
Anyway, brilliant all the way and the perfect preparation indeed! I’m not surprised we’re having all those bright revelations under the topic Sunshine, hahahaha!
Late to the party, here is my sketch. (took me 50 minutes)
theTaron - I really like your second post - lovely colors!
Sazem - what to say, you “won” this topic

That’s really nice, Mirid! And just call me “Taron”!
Now go forth and make youself an Avatar!!!
Oh, and thanks, I’m slowly getting into the groove again…
