Creeto: Then you have something to work into your sketches here for practice, I suppose! Surely it wouldn’t be too hard to do some creature studies and bring them up to par with your environment and rendering ability? Your other recent work is usually very relaxed and flowing, so try to use a similar approach for bodies without thinking too much and I’m sure it’ll get there. I like the idea with a shell throne, it looks cozy.

Myself, I might be a bit too loose and fluffy… Especially on this one, I had no ambition at all to be lifelike or plausible. It was the second attempt actually, with a completely different technique for the first one which didn’t pan out. Not very impressed with this one either, but it has an appropriate expression and I think the downscaled oversharpening works in its favor somehow. Coloring is still a pain, jumping from one app to another.

55 min. This one was definitely a struggle, it’s been a long week.

I started this yesterday and finished today. Gotta say Creeto that we had pretty much similar idea… with the skirt and all

#6

Petter, this was a struggle for me. only felt relaxed when i did the background
but as you mentioned this IS where the practice take place. i haven’t been doing any sketching fro a loooong time but now i’m back on track

Sazem, to be honest the only reason why i made the “skirt” was to hide his legs hehe. anatomy struggle forced me to cloth design :arteest:

Hi guys,

here is mine turtle king (55mins sharp). Also, not very strong at anatomy, so I covered him with huge shield

Great works everybody!

The Turtle King - 1hour 47 min… out of the time limit  More a character design than a sketch…

About 1hr, just tried to get the rough point across. Have to participate more often!

Some exquisite sketches up there again. Why, oh, why can’t I pull myself together these days and do something pretty… instead, here’s another lazy little bit of humor (I hope).

I’ve never done one of these challenges before so no idea if I formatted this right! 55 minute sketch in Photoshop for ‘The Turtle King’ challenge.
You guys have done some amazing work in 55 minutes! I haven’t quite got down a light angle in this but its a start.

Welcome, Halmir! I think you have to copy “image location” from your porfolio and then paste it as image in the post. The image doesn’t show… checked in your portfolio, though, really sweet!
