Grrrrr…again, stupid time limit, hehe. It’s so fun to get carried away, but now I didn’t have time to add anything else. I’m currently experimenting around with perspective, hooked up a grid to Verve with lens distortion. That’s way fun to play with! :bounce:

To me the time is merely a ballpark, really. It’s good, but it’s also nothing that would stop me from a flow, which is why I normally should stop while I’m ahead, haha. When ever I don’t…well…the above happens and I go over a few minutes. But I have cats and am constantly interrupted anyway, hahaha, so it should all be good.
However, when you’re in the zone, enjoy it and don’t let the time put you under stress!

Welcome, mantiz! That’s awesome, too, really nice style! At least one of us had to take the topic for it’s expected meaning, hehe. I love the details in it, it’s fun to explore your painting. It could’ve gotten a bit more controlled contrast for foreground and background to avoid it from becoming flat, I enjoy the well improvised perspective, which is kinda sweet. Altogether…Great job! 
(All those flasks and liquids must’ve been a bit tedious to make, really nice!)

Thanks, Sazem, that was great fun! Since I hooked up that grid to Verve I’m totally fascinated with making extreme perspectives. It’s still not easy, but it’s crazy what difference it makes to have a any guide like that.

What I mean by contrast in the foreground…
Roughly speaking, perspective in paintings comes from 2 things: Form and Color
That means, for example, black in the foreground is darker than black in the background. Just look at any typical Hollywood production. Indoor scenes often use “dry ice” to put some haze in a scene that creates greater depth and to help differentiate between what’s in the foreground versus what’s in the background. In reality that happens, too, but not as dramatically. Stuff in the air, dust and such, catches light in the room and the farther back something is from your eyes, the more dust is between you and it, both adding brightness, but also taking away brightness from that object in the back.
Often just a tiny difference in contrast does the trick already, but you can push it as far as you like, of course.
