Hello, long time lurker (about 8 years!!) first time poster to the DSG thread. Like your sketch Alice, she is instantly recognizeable!

For the topic “pink” I choose to paint a pink-spotted orchid. Painted from life–specifically from a $24.99 white orchid plant in a ceramic pot I bought from Whole Foods. Took me about 3-31/2 hours, since originally there were more orchids, but I cropped them out since I didn’t like how they were turning out.

Alice: Really cool! I like the soft colors and the pop art-feel in the sketch! Also like the green highlight :slight_smile:

Nenethomas: Welcome! I do the same with many forums… first posts are allways the hardest, before you feel home :slight_smile: I really like the organic feel in your painting… Flowers are awful hard to paint… or actually any organic thing :smiley:

Here is mine… about 30mins… Pink is not my favorite color, pretty opposite actually. So I picket one that pink would fit in my opinion :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for your comment! I like your pink cadillac very much. I’ve never drawn a car in all my life because inorganic shapes terrify me!
