Ok first things first.
I wan to apoligize for being absent in the past few weeks.
I am getting married this weekend, and it has driven me away from a lot of my favorite haunts.

Open today I want to do somethign a bit different in the forum.
I wanto to have and open thread.
Think of this as a open mike night.
So tell us things like,
What is on your mind?
Who are you? How long have you been in the forum? what are yo working on?
Tell us you view of the forum (This is a big one)

Looking forwardd to your posts.

Oh my god, congratulations :D! Big hugs, Rob!

I’m currently working on one of my scrapped ideas intended for the Dreamworld challenge. I feel like I’m about to abandon it again, so I’m really going to give it my best tomorrow, without thinking too much about other stuff I really can’t do anything about anyway. I find it really amazing how the pile of abandoned, unfinished work can contain so many potentially nice pieces

Congratulations!

I’ve been here for a couple of years, though never contributed that much. Haven’t looked in for a long time. Somehow tonight the Forum came to my mind and i’ve decided to take a peek

So here i am, longing for improvement in my work, be it 2d or 3d, hoping this beautiful forum can inspire me ^^

hello again,
lately have been quite occupied. I finally put my web online (something that was delayed for me for diferent reasons). I have not looked for work yet , by the moment i work as freelance
for an animation company here in Chile doing backgrounds, color scripts and even some texturing and 3d for props. Im also in the process to be part of a video game company from Canada established here in Chile so im waiting for the interview results:curious: .

Speaking of the forum, i think this is a good training place to be at. I started here some years
ago, and i never stop painting. This site is for me the home for inspiration and aspiration to be a better digital artist.I like to see the paintings of the old members as well from the new ones. I can learn from all people that are posting in the DSF.

I hope that people come here more often beacuse there is a lack of paintings lately (including me to). I will also love a voting system, but i know that is not worth when so few people are posting.

Well thats my oppinion, the DSF is a great site to be part of .Use the power of DSF to Grow!

Walter

First off congrats on getting married!!! Also Wexter, I hope your job interview result is good, I know the feeling of waiting for interview results. =)

Whats on my mind? I recently finished my first video game job and find myself with some free time, aside from the time spent looking for work. So currently I am feeling the itch to improve my skills and try some new directions in art. Finding myself looking at a lot of Frazetta art lately and have let it inspire some of my traditional art.

Who am I? I am a digital/traditional artist living in the Pacific Northwest, and I have been a fan of the DSF for about…1.5 to 2 years i think. Currently I am working on learning zbrush, and refining some projects I have in the Unreal engine. Also improving my painting skills =)

What do I think of the DSF? I love it. LOVE it!!! You help provide interesting insight, ideas, and a whole hell of a lot of the inspiration i find is derived from the other artist on the forum. It is really fun to see how everyone takes a topic and runs with it. I have learned a ton from my time spent in the DSF.

Hey there everyone,
I’ve been on this forum for a really long time tho I’ve mostly been a lurker till a few years ago when I finally decided to post and take a little part.
At the moment I’m doing my masters in multimedia so not working or started looking for work yet. Trying to get my skills up. I know I should post more and everyday I think the idea of DSF and that it never misses a beat helps keep me motivated too.
I wondered what happened to the voting system that was in place previously? Anyhoo still glad I frequent the forums often tho, I should post more. Nice to meet everybody.

How are you enjoying your married life so far?
I’ve been here 7 or 8 years… come and go every few years.

Congrats for the marriage!!

What is on your mind?

Not much actually  Im just thinking how to do more and learn better… For couples of year I havent learn anything and just beeing so lazy (and I have had some other things going on also).

Who are you?
I am 26 years old guy from Finland. Studying currently It-field in HAMK University of applied sciences. Art has been hobby pretty long... When I was about 13 - 14 I started make 3d models for games which got me into 2d because I wanted to know how to draw my own reference pictures... and then soon after I started to only draw and paint! Maybe someday I will get back to learning 3d. :D

How long have you been in the forum?
<--- its there next to the avatar.. 2006, when I got my first tablet. I was reading actually these forums long before registering.

What are yo working on?

Trying to graduate someday from school is my main goal now… freetime im learn a lot more painting stuff… (and littlebit programming too)
I really like to paint characters, scenery… and usually something that has story inside of the picture. So I got huge field to learn

Tell us you view of the forum
This is my first sketching forum ever, I really love it and its really nice that you guys put effort on it! Cgtalk has been allways motivated me to paint atleast something... If I dont want to learn or study anything, I have many times just came here, painted the topic and then Im allready again motivated to start learning.
It had lot more people when I last time was more active. So we should all start sketching more and more. I think it would get more people coming here too.

I had this idea that we could make some minor rule, or atleast try it out. When you post your sketch, the next fellow who is going to post hes, has to say a word or two about your piece. And the third guy has to say word or two about the seconds guy`s work. So everybody would get some feedback, comment or such from theyr work... Nothing fancy :)
Little more talking might give more motivation?
Just an idea :D
What u guys think about it ?

Also it would be nice if you could give me some ideas in here how to stay motivated? How to keep drawing and painting everyday atleast little..? Starting seems to be my problem. If I start I might keep painting whole evening and night in the row...
