CGChallenge XXVII - TEN (Image) Entry: Shogunwarrior

Hi,

I am thrilled to participate in this fine event. I want to wish everyone good luck and wish everyone the best in their entries. I have started sketching something but not sure if it will be the ten!! lol… still sketching out stuff though.

This drawing illustrates a fantasy character with magical abilities from a far land in the cosmos. A female rider on a Black Ryuu or Black Dragon. This the only information i have at this point more to come…

Here is an update on my work…

Heres another update.

This is a “10 Claw Black Ryuu Rider” that encounter an alien not from their world. A brief encounter from both parties the, “10 Claw Black Ryuu Rider” doesn’t like the alien presence and decides to attack the alien flying next to her. This is all the info i have now more to come.

So far, so good. Compositionally, I’d think abut adding cropping it to a more widescreen format - just crop off some of the bottom, move the root-things up a bit, so they stay in the picture.

Nice start! I agree above - there’s a fair amount of dead space below the creature’s head

Hi,

Yes, ill eliminate most of the empty space thats not needed in the composition and try to bring out the characters in the scene. Well heres another update just sketching out the robot giving it some detail more to come…

Nice sketching. In addition to what others said, maybe add more space to the sky to give a more balanced look.
