Not entirely sure I’ll have the time to participate between a new job and putting work into another hobby project, but I’m going to give it my best attempt anyways! Here is my current working concept / idea…
Powers of Ten
I’ve always been interested in science and love seeing the various CG elements that are added to TV shows in order to explain the world in an entertaining way, so I thought it would be fun to create an animation which cycles through a series of scenes depicting the world at various sizes (0.01mm, 0.1mm, 1mm, 1cm, 1m, 10m, 100m, 1km, etc…). So maybe I’ll start off at the atmoic level continue quickly jumping to the next bigger power of 10, DNA, cells, small animal, human, a city block, city, earth, solar system, galaxy, etc…
The idea would be to create a very quick snapshot at each size and then quickly “zoom” out to the next bigger size. Not necessarily going for scientific accuracy, but just something visually interesting at each scale, roughly.
