Car Rigging Pivot problem driving me crazy!

I have imported the model from fbx file into maya scene… Now i have noticed that the objects (car model) pivots do not correspond to the correct axis of the maya scene… and when I rotate
it using the controls it goes into the wrong position. Like lets say if i rotate it to Y then the model goes to x… i already freeze transformed it and change the pivots orientation but still the problem persist. Any ideas?

Hi,
Chk the units while importing the file.
Chk the mode of the tool. See if it is set to world or local orientation.

Did you use a constraint or did you just plug in the ctrls directly? If you did a direct connection you need to make sure that both of them have the same orientation.
