Can't post a new thread

I have a problem. I am a new member and I tried to post a thread on a forum (where it says “you can post new threads”) but after my post is “successfully” submitted (confirmation message appears) it’s nowhere to be found. In my profile, when I follow links like “Find all threads/posts by…” it displays “Sorry - no matches” page. What’s going on? Should I send the post again or wait? How long?
