Cant get MIA-Materials x passes to look right

#1

Hey reader

I am currently working on a school assignment in which I have to render a view object onto an photograph table. The point is to make them look like as they where really there.

I am planning to use Maya passes and import them into composite however I have no experience doing this and have ran into some material property problems.

The material I use for each object is called Mia Material x passes I however seem to have no control over the highlight strength of this material.

No matter what i touch the highlight always comes out looking really strong.

So my question is: how do I get this highlight (or material) to look more like this?

Try to mimic the lighting situation in the scene. You will see your highlights will begin to match more.

The mia_material shaders can produce extremely bright specular highlights. In the mia_material_xpasses advanced folder you will find the highlight control called specular balance. This attribute will reduce the specular highlights from cg light sources but will not effect the intensity of reflections.
