Can you please stop the people who abuse this forum with constant advertising in threads, trying to sell their products . Also, look into all these new members who seem to start these advertising threads. It’s an old trick for someone to create many alias accounts, then be the first to reply and start their sales pitch. It is becoming too obvious. Another trick they use is to constantly keep re opening their threads so the Views counter rises to unbelievable numbers. It is hard to believe that 8000 people viewed the thread and only 100 people actually replied.

Thank you for the info.

He was answering a users question specifically about a guide to understand rigging. I don’t care if he’s selling a tutorial or dvd. The option is to the user whether he buys it or not. This is how people on this site learn the skills. DVD tutorials are a popular learning tool. If you have a problem with that, then don’t buy it.

My problem is the continuing abuse of forums for one person to use as an ongoing advertisement. You are only looking at one thread. Look at the whole picture.

You are not seeing how he is now doing this, 24/7 on more forums. Come on, I am sure you know exactly hat is going on here. Think about how it would be if we all start doing this? will you allow it for everyone to monitor threads, 24/7, be the first to reply and make a sales pitch with a wink?

The only answer is to not allow “anyone” to make sales pitches in threads like it used to be. Have a separate section, store, here people can choose to visit without a salesman constantly pushing them. Have you checked into the validity of all these new members who seem to start these threads with a quick reply from the salesman? This is no coincident and you need to look at the hole picture and not just this one thread.

Well, OK. Now that I have taken the time to look through the entire post history of the user which you are complaining about, I find that (with the exception of your latest grumblings) there are only a few minor critiques about the quality of the tutorials. Overall, the members seem to be genuinely pleased with the help and training that he provides. Coincidentally, I find only a small number of the posts have anything to do with the services he’s selling and have more to do with his helping other members understand and use the software.

Therefore, it would appear that you (in relation to the rest of the CGSociety community you are proudly preaching on behalf of) are in the minority. So, when you mention how much of a negative impact this has on the community or how much he’s polluting the forum with his sales pitches, I would have to say that you are incorrect (even so at the risk of yet another person to become blindly angry at me for disagreeing).

I wouldn’t mind so much, except that you’ve wasted nearly an hour of my time now with what has become an empty accusation. Please, review the facts next time before pointing directly to a record of the user’s history that overwhelmingly disproves your argument.

Are you sure you don’t actually just have a personal issue with the person in question here? We take spamming very seriously - it’s the reason for about 99% of the bans on this site. I don’t see anything in that user’s posting history to suggest that he is abusing the site in this way.
