Camera Work for Virtual Environments

I’m not sure if animation is the correct area for this but the camera is animated so…

So I’ve been asked to create a 3D scene in a city and I’ve decided to go with a street in Manhattan. I have the story boards due in soon so I have to work out how the camera will move throughout the scene and I’m not sure what shots would be best.

I know I have to keep the shots slow to show off the environment and maybe include some pans and some DOF shots but is there anything else I can add? Are there any conventions that environment artists use?

What’s the best way to show off an environment?
