Camera mount VFX advice

#1

Hi all - Just looking for advice/ideas on a small project i’m due to start work on.

I’m being provided some ‘filmed from behind’ footage from a camera mounted on a car. The problem is, the mount is visible in the right side of the frame connecting to the back quarter panel of the car.

I’ve been asked to remove the camera mount so was looking for any techniques people may recommend.

So far i’m looking to use the supplied CAD car model to match the rear panel in the scene and remove the mount which should be OK blended in (hopefully). The problem is matching the reflections as all I have is the raw footage.

Would appreciate any thoughts of techniques from the more experienced folk!

Cheers

My first idea was you cannot, you have to recreate the
whole car.
The second was to key the reflections and warp them
so they cover the recreated area smoothly.
The third was to wipe the reflections all together with
color corrections and try to create new ones but it
seems a long shot.
I am also not an experienced compositor and of course
everything depends on the shot. Good luck.

Can you post a picture of a frame of this?
