Hello everybody.

Some of you had asked me whether there is a way to buy the following scene:

  Yes, there is!

The whole scene is available at the new flexmedia-webshop, which sells only selected products for Cinema4D.
There you can find some more screen-shots of the Choice Of Minerals.
One of them shows this scene directly within Cinema4D.

Take a look, if you like.
The following link leads you directly to the offer:

I appreciated a lot the minerals you put on your site for free. I am still trying to grasp how you obtained certain effects. This looks to be very interesting indeed. Over to that shop…

#3

Hi Erik,

I remember your nice e-mail which you have sent me some months ago

I really think this complete scene with all these shaders and examples of minerals helps you a lot in finding out how I obtained the certain effects.

Regards
Björn

I was hoping for some brief tutorial on the how and the why, a secret download link for peple who purchase your minerals and shaders…?
Tongue in cheek. Just an idea…

I ove minerals, and have quite a collection of them. And your use of shaders is really of the highest level. It’s not very cheap -the pricerange of very good looking plugins- but one does get a lot for it.

Guess Santaclaus will bring it to me. If I clean that electronic chimney that is…

Hi Erik,

the making of such 3d-minerals is a highly complex theme, indeed.
So I really can not describe this in a few sentences.

Many of the users of my eight c4d-minerals have e-mailed me, that they trained themselves with these eight examples.
And they said, these are not enough for them
They wanted more pieces, because they love it to carry out experiments and to look at their own beautiful results.

Now they can get 23 objects with much more shaders

Björn

Let’s discuss this further by e-mail, ok?
That shop is not really what it should be for international orders: no credit cards, no download option and only in German.

Hi everybody,

of course I am interested in the fact that everybody who is interested in this scene can afford it.
Therefore, I have negotiated with several people.
Now I am glad to be able to announce the following:

The English version of the flexmedia-webshop will open the doors soon (within 5 hours!! hang on!)
It will have a friendly user interface for visitors from international non-german-speaking countries.

The possibility to pay directly with credit cards is just evaluated, we will inform you again if this payment option is available. For now, we offer credit card payment only via paypal. Since the security processing and evaluation of credit cards in realtime (!!) is a very complicated and complex process, we need some time to compare several clearing companies (and their fees) to offer you the best shopping experience.

It is wrong, that the shop does not have a download option.
In fact, we ONLY sell downloadable products. :-)
You will be able to download the files instantly when you pay with paypal.

And there is still other interesting news:
A special Christmas offer!

The costs for the Choice Of Minerals will be lowered until Christmas, drastically.
A price of 20 EUR is aimed.

[i] I think and really hope that this special offer is suitable for you.

That is very cool Bjorn! Like to play around with these stones. Is the price really gonna be €20? That’s a really great offer! When will the price in the shop be updated?

Thanks,
odo

yes really, the price will be lowered upon 20 EUR :-))

Please be patient.
If the time has come, I will inform you about it here.

Hi Björn,

Thanks for making your scene available - and affordable. I expect you’ll sell many more copies since you’ve dropped the price to about 25% of the initial one. Hopefully, at least more than 4 times as many so that you end up with more even though you’re selling it for less. Priced the way it is now, it’s in the impulse-buy zone, which makes it very approachable. The way it was before, I’d have to get the boss’s okay (aka Mrs. Andrews) and there’s only so many times I’m willing to attempt that per month…

I bought it a little early, and encountered a little snafu. I can’t praise Alexander at flexmedia enough - he went way out of his way to track down the glitch and make sure I had your scene as quickly as possible. Kudos to flexmedia.

As for the scene itself - whew! I never expected it would be rendering so long. I left it using the test-floor which it says is faster. That was more than 4-1/2 hours ago, and it looks like it’s about halfway through a 1024x768 rendering (using the stock “Best” AA setting). I left the lighting as it was in the scene. I’m hoping some alternate R9.5 lighting might be able to speed that up significantly. BTW, did it take a similar amount of time to render for you, or is that excessive?

Hi Jeff,

I am pleased to hear that finally everything ran off to your satisfaction.
The service of the flexmedia-team is really impressing.
I agree to you, absolutely.

Yes, this amount of render-time is realistic, but - beautiful minerals need some time to grow  Am I right?

If you are lucky, I am it likewise.

Regards
Bjoern

Hi Björn,

No problem with the render time. I just wanted to verify that mine was not taking way too long. Since yours took a fairly long time also, that’s fine. Thanks for the info and the fine materials.

I just got my copy, and I must say that this collection is more worth than these 20Euros. Thanks, Bjoern. Outstanding work indeed!
