Buing video tutorials for Rhino 3 while I own 4 - worth it?

#1

Hello, I`m new to rhino - have been working with 3ds max for couple of years. Right now at my work I need to learn rhino, fast. Especially modeling (for product desing).

I have found this cd with video tutorials for rino 3 aviable for purchasing:

Now, I`m usning Rhino 4 - and my question is - will this be still worth buying for me?

It looks like a good set for begginers to learn quickly, and if changes in using rhino 3 to 4 are not so great, I`d like to buy it. What are your opinions?

Or maybe there is something better for me to get around this price? (~150$)

Thanks in advance,

Tomek

There are more than a few differences so it makes sense to buy what you are going to learn or you will miss out.
Looks like the basics - a video help file for the commands in rhino.
From Mcneel so i assume they cover everthing.

not enough “hands on tutorials”.
Forget about the explanations of single commands. The Rhino Book is a great resource for that, and the online help in Rhino is one of the best I ever had in any programm.
Try to make a couple of Tutorials that a freely available on rhino3d.com, superfici3d.com, renderosity.com

Don’t forget to post your questions here on cgtalk.com

that’s it

first, let me welcome you to Rhino community, and wish you fast and quality learning.
Next, like the guys above said, it doesn’t make any sense buying the cds for the older version, since theres that Rhino 4 Tips, Rhino4 book, Rhino 4 realtime command help which consits of command explanation and little video that will guide you how to use the command… there are plenty tutorials online, not all of them very good, but you can google it. But, the best tutorial resource is what lukasdesign said. go to rhino3d.com tutorials page, and click on those links… also, Rhino users are very friendly and will help whenever you need… so, ask for help

I myself launched the rhino tutorials site, and try to make as many tutorials as I can to share my little knowledge, so you can find just a couple of them for now there…

Thanks a lot!

I really like how some things work in rhino, but also Im afraid that all this drawing curves and completly different philosophy than poly modeling will not match my, well, skills. But hopefully Im just being a bit pesimistic and it will all work out.

Hope to meet here with you guys, and with some rhino puzzles to solve

good day!
