Braider, not for animated deformed or boned object?

#1

Yesterday I started play for the first time with Braider plug-in from Paralumino, along with SuperLines creates some spectacular visuals but unfortunately it seems that can not be applied on animated deformed or boned objects, because the wires become crazy.

The only solution is to export the geometry as Fact and reimported back into EIAS, but so can no longer animate Braider…and besides you have to put back the bones in your character, hard work …and impossible in many cases after Braided.

I do not know if there is any solution, I hope that is a user error.
80 percent of the objects that I am using or are deformed or have bones …

I read the manual but I have not seen any reference, somebody knows if there is a solution for this?

Cheers
Diego

Hi Diego

  1. Enable “Use UV space for scan chains” inside Braider
  2. If model doesn’t have UVs - create them with the “CreateUV” plug. - Link for that somewhere on these forums (Richard?)…

That should stabilise the plug,
Best,
Ian

Well is done i order my copy of EI yesterday, next i am jumping into Paralumino plugins thinking in getting BS Combo. And than i will add another plugin that can comunicate well with Paralumino.
In one of the xpreasso forum i have found that is being astudied applying xpresions to tresttle or scrim to manioulate them via xpressioniast.
ANy true in this? The animations will be incredible.
But in conclusion

1.BS Combo , which plugins communicate well with them?

  1. Xpresso and Trestle and Scrim?

  2. Since Tretle is the base of the product line why not include it with BS Combo?

Thanks

PS: How is the documentation and samples for the plugins? And how ias the plugin delivered, is it a download ? I prefered to be a download.

Hey Edgard,

Let me see if I can answer everything for you.

  1. Braider is a surface topology wire generator. It will take any model and analyze it’s surface to create wires. Those wires can then be used by any plugin that uses some kind of polyline line input. That’s pretty much all of our products, but also there are other plugs that can use them too.

  2. All of the animation channels for the various CV points made in a Trestle 2D polyline can be accessed via Xpressionist. Although Trestle only draws in 2D, the CV points it generates are in 3D space so all the XY and Z positional data can be tapped by Xpressionist. As for Scrim, yes… its channels are also available via Xpressionist.

  3. Braider is actually a support product. Personally if I were you, I’d purchase the Trestle/Swage combo and then buy Braider separately. That’s probably the biggest bang for your buck.

Manuals are available via our website. Just click on the product you desire and there is a “Get Manual” button that will download it for you. Samples are also available.

Unfortunately, our delivery method is electronic email. All plugins must be serialized before delivery.

Yes, i was wrong TS combo is the big here. And Braider later on. Brian let me tell you something, as i have been reading Trestle i think it deserves a video of its own. These plug in is half the powerful than i thought i mean • Replication. This feature tells the plug-in to output a 3D array of shapes instead of a single shape. Animation channels can be created for each replicated instance which can then be modified by XP
Masters and Slaves. This feature is known in other applications as “instancing”. It allows mutiple instances of Trestle
to share the same data for two or more plug-in groups. By editing a master, all of its slaves update the changes automatically. Each Trestle group can still be moved, scaled, deformed individually thus making work with complex shapes even easier.

This is to deep got to read it over again.

Wow , this is amzing this plug in needs to be advertised more with examples of all of the feautures i know Brian showed the examples combined with other plug ins such as Placer Deposit but this is the upper level of Mograph CLoner. I wonder if it ask for much RAM as Mograph i only have a MacBookPro 2.16 with 1gb. I used Mograph on this baby and it can take a lot of time to render a mograph cloner. But we will see with Paralumino.
Great development that is for sure.

Well too bad Braider isa not a part of the combo or cant play with trestle for example you could have a character forming out of various pieces of Geometry created in Trestle where it could be multiple deformations applied to it.

I guess i am excited to upgrade to V7 is being long time since 2.9cd

Edgard,

There is a Trestle PVT video you can look at. Its found here:

http://www.paralumino.com/x_cart/product.php?productid=16136&cat=260&page=1

I know…I know… difficult to find. New Website should fix that.
