whats the best way to create the bloomin effect on the highlights of an image, can it be done combustion , or would it have to be in the 3d program

In combustion you could use a glow or there is another way where you can copy the layer, adjust the brightness and contrast so the areas you wish to have a bloom are flat white and the rest is black and then blur and set the layer to screen. I think that’s the method, I’m trying to remember from memory. It’s pretty much the same in photoshop.
If you are using 3ds max you can use the specular bloom script which came with version 5 I think.
