Blend Shape - Multiple Targets

#1

Hey,

I have:
object1
object2

The two objects share the same number of verts, and have identical vert ids/order. The actual objects, however, differ.

What I’d like to do is duplicate object1, deform it and use it as a blend shape for object1 and apply the delta/vert offset between object1 and the blend shape to object2.

I apologize for my inability to describe this more effectively.

Any help would be appreciated!

David

Create the first blendshape, then delete the target shape. Now use the connection editor to connect object2Shape.outMesh to the input of the blendshapeNode. Well actually this input needs to go through a groupParts node. Put another way, replace the object1ShapeOrig node with object2Shape. This will be a little more obvious if you have a look at the connections in the nodeEditor (in 2013) or the hyperGraph.

If you never do this type of thing, it might look a bit scary, but essentially you are rewiring a single connection. Let me know if you need more specific help.

I’m curious as to how this is being used. Why would you just not model a blendshape for object2?

Thanks Gmask!
Your method works
You just have have the have the final blendshape active at all times =D
