Blend Mode shader (or smth)

Hey.

I’m pretty sure it’s impossible, but i better ask this question anyway. So here it goes… Is there any way to mm… write rendered pixels into framebuffer using some blend mode? I’m interested in add/screen in particular. Here’s an example to clarify. Here’s what we get with default render:

And here’s what i’m looking for:

… notice the brighter areas where rings overlap. (ignore the glow btw - it’s not impostant)

And yes - i know this is usually done in post. But - in my case i have around 100 of those overlapping elements and creating a render layer for each one of them and comping them later is well… not that fun.
Software i’m working with is Maya / MR. Creating render layer for each element, setting them to Screen blend mode doesn’t work either - ‘Render All Layers’ option is for preview only - won’t work in batch render. Besides it’s buggy (or at least i couldn’t force it to work correctly).

Any advice will do. Thx in advance for all answers :wavey:
