What’s sweden?
Big hugs and such <3
I could be wrong on this,
but I believe sweden is an old old wooden ship that was used during the civil war era.
Sweden is actually a form of onion. Multi-coloured and half decomposed.
Yeah.
Sorry I didn’t make that clear from the get go
And pictures of the hair cut can be found way earlier in this thread.
Man, I just finished playing Thief 3. Such an awesome game. I shouldn’t have played it though, it freaked me out so much. I dodged and ran out of the room (literally, not in the game) at several points when skulking around in this ghost house. So scary.
Oh my goodness. I’d have to include footage with that (no pun intended) and there’s no way I’d ever take a picture of my feet - and actually show them to someone.
Well.
Not without wearing the toesocks anyway.
I can’t believe I actually did this.

Step one:
Put pen and paper on floor. Watch cat occupy the paper within an instant of it being put down. It’s inevitable.
Common mistakes:
Not taking into account things like: cat, sweaty toes, cold pen.

Step two:
Put pen between your toes. Carefully. You need a really good grip to make it stick - but no matter how you do it, the foot will cramp up after a while so you need to remember to take many breaks, and often rest the foot - maybe switching it for the other foot. At this point (holding pen with foot, that is), cat is likely to swipe at foot. Be prepared for the paw!
Common mistakes:
Thinking one can hold that pen for more than a few minutes at a time. Foot cramps. Toes fall off.

Step three:
Hold the paper down with the other foot. Set the pen to paper - remember to keep a steady grip. Biggest problem here isn’t the actual drawing - it’s keeping the damn pen steady. Trust me on this one. Try drawing a very short, careful line. Best keep all lines short, in fact, the toes can’t hold pen steady for very long.

Common mistakes:
Thinking you can actually draw something neat with your feet. Please.

Step four:
Take a break! Rest feet on cat, if possible. Cat might leave if you do. They refuse to be useful.
Common mistakes:
Not resting feet. Trying to poke at cat with toes = incapacitated toes.

Step five:
Try to draw something simple. With your toes, you’ll never be a Rembrandt (unless you lose the ability to use your hands, in which case you’ll have to learn, but until then: whatever you do will look like shit). The profile of a face is easy and it’s mostly lines. Try that.
Common mistakes:
Trying to paint something grand, and forever losing the use of your feet because they’ve been broken by the experience.

Step six:
Foot hurting now, isn’t it? Switch to the other one. It won’t make much difference. It’s not like you draw enough for you to develop a ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ foot to paint with. Continue drawing with this foot and don’t switch back until it starts hurting. Keep in mind not to be upset when the lines won’t obey you. Your foot won’t have much precision, be it the left or the right one.

Step seven:
The biggest challenge of all. When finished, you must sign. Yes. That’s right. You have to sign it. With your foot. It’s actually harder to sign something than to draw it. When you draw, you can do lots of squiggly lines and try to pass it off as something useful… a signature can’t look like that, though. Mine does either way, though - written with hand or foot - so it was a little easier for me.
Annnnd… you’re done! I hope you enjoyed! Please post your foot drawings.
(Yes, I have different types of socks on my feet. I lost one of each and I love them too much to throw them away. So there.)
Man, that is awesome! :arteest:
I’ll spare you my first attempts at a profile head, but here’s my impression of a meteor hurtling towards the earth and some passerby astronauts expressing their surprise…

LOL - OK - now how about a tut using your teeth? Pleeese
(Oh yea - and can you hum something by Bach while your doing it?)

I joined CGSociety in hopes to see Linda do a foot drawing tutorial.
Another step toward podiatric artistic development. ![]()
Great tutorial
Azrael looks really cute in the first-step picture, Kind of looks like he’s saying “Mine!”
I hope you find you’re socks. Try looking where you have taken off your sock and under the furniture nerby. They might also be where you keep you dirty clothes before you put them in that washing-machine… Wait a minute… Why am I saying this?!
I’m shure You’ll find them some day
lol :applause: Great tutorial.
Iits great to see so many fantastic artists here, and Linda you are one of the best. Your work in d’artiste is fan-bloody-tastic!
That looks much better than I can do using most skillful parts of my body! I feel so sad.
:applause:
Wow, a foot drawing tutorial. That alone’s justified the cost of the CGSociety subscription.
The Swedish girls I’ve known have all been tall and blonde. Actually I’m lying - thinking again I did have a friend from Stockholm who was dark haired and looked fairly Bjorkish in a nearly Inuit type way.
I’ll have to look into getting D’Artiste. It sounds great.
The Thief series have to be one of my favourits. Thief 2 is simply awesome conceptually, in terms of atmosphere, and in its plot (I was truly shocked when i found out what was happening). Those barely intelligent steam powered robotic sentinels (the Children of Karras) with the scratchy gramaphone voices are frightening. Being a huge fan of steam-punk and this is quite possibly the best rendition of it ever (I have some ideas for a steam-punkish world I’d like to illustrate but that’s another story) I love that series.
Have you played the first 2 linda? In appearance they’re a bit dated but are in many ways superior to the latest. Still I really enjoyed Thief 3. I was terribly disappointed with the end however. An anticlimax imho but the Shoalbridge Cradle level was very cool and very scary - It still gives me shivers…and Garrett is just cool…simple as that…
The thief series would would make a fantastic MMOG. I want to delve into that world - there is such a great wealth of back-story to be gleaned if you take the time…
However, my favourite game in terms of atmosphere, storyline, suspense, action, that sense of total immersion, as well as the look, feel, and design (not to mention the core concepts such as toying with the notions of forced transhumanism) - damn it, the whole thing is without doubt Half-life 2, no contest.
The final scenes in the citadel have to be some of the most beautiful, and awe-inspiring, and atmosperic ever to grace a game…if you haven’t played it, it is most recommended…

I’m guessing the washinmachine monster ate them . . .
what is it with socks and only one half of a pair going MIA . . .
the footdrawing tut is hilarious, good one LOL
