Wow I love the latest textures, stick with those! Really nice, especially the strip around the window! Great attention to detail as well.
Can’t wait to see more!
Cheers

Wow that’s great! Are those modeled rivets? Love the detail around the vents and sliding areas you did, great work! I really gotta dust mine off…
Andre, hope I will finish it one day:) And what more… hope I will be able to make some good renders:)
All rivets are models. It took some time to place them, but now I have less work with textures - simple do not have to paint them:)
Yeah I never could get textured ones to look right, had to model them too… though now that I have insert mesh brushes in zbrussh, seems like those might help as well
Wow! This looks great! Did you place all the rivets by hand, or use some kind of modifier to lock them to the surface?
Loooong breake, but finally I back to this project. I did some tests with final shader and with dust, since I will put this bird into the vietnam base or something like that. Probably still to shiny. A lot of things need to be improved. A lot of textures need to be created, but all in all there colud be something nice at the end and what most important, I’m happy that I returned to this:)

Looks great and still has a lot of potential. I think lighting is too neutral, which makes it look a bit flat. I feel some darker shadows and stronger highlights could make a big difference.
Definitly:) I will work on final lightning after creating environment. Right now all light comes from random hdr map.
Niiiicee!!! Wow I love the model, all the details totally pay off! Yes lighting is a bit too neutral, the sun key light will make a huge difference. Can;t wait to see those renders
Amazing piece of work!

Hello, I found some time to play a little with environment - I’m trying to find nice idea of final shot. Everyting is “in progress” but basically this is what I have in my mind…

Hello, a long time since last post, but this project is still alive!
Here you can see some random tests with reference photo. Because I do everything at once, nothing is finished in 100%
This are almost raw render, with barely post.

I decided to make simple and fast environment, coz I’m too lazy to work on more complicated one:)

This is a fantastic model. I have been working on a real UH-1H for the past two years and I love this helicopter. Have you done anything else with this model? Your work looks awesome and I can’t wait to show this to the rest of our team here! Here is a link of the helicopter I have been working on.
pgajlewicz I have joined just to tell you this is a wonderful build it is so detailed just great.
I think you said the model was build from a number of helis and that you were not sure which Huey it was.
So just to help you get the era right etc. here is a little knowledge for you.
The tail number ending in 15873 is for aircraft build and given their id in the year 1970 full id 70-15873 and is currently in the Dominican Republic. The model is UH-1H Iroquois.
No Vietnam Huey in country during the war was fitted with the WSPS or the rail around the corner of the windshield. The fin VHF antenna would have been in the place of the WSPS top cable cutter.
These would have been fitted after leaving US Army service, perhaps when the Huey went into National Guard service as many did or when sold to the Dominican Republic.
Once again wonderful work thank you so much for sharing.
