Been away way to long!

Hm, I think this fihting-thing is a very good idea, also a horselike thing (i know them as a Pegasus) would lose clearly against a dragon. U could create a fight between this Pegasus and, perhaps, a Gargoyle; they are evil, they also can fly, but they’re same small like a horse. Well, just an idea.

Perspective is very well; in a fighting scene i would give the legs more motion. I think a Pegasus would kick through the air if it is moving fast, know what I mean? ^^

So far,

Another WIP…

I really want to learn how to get dynamic paintings to work…I know I’ve lost something in translation from my mind to the canvas tho.

Any help?

#4

So many problems…I know. =( But I’m still going to finish it and see what I get.

#5

Will continue tomorrow…I’m totally over working this piece. Dang it.

#6

Moving on to something else today to give myself a break from the other portrait and to wait on a response for help from Mr.Steven in his paintover thread…

Thought I would do a WIP to show my steps to perhaps help folks or show folks my flaws in foundation lol!

So here we go…Step on of Generic Elf_01.

I usually rough out the basic features of the face, then I start to “sculpt” in the lighting. I find doing a reduction method of erasing from a dark base works best for me that trying to do darks on a light.

#7

And here we see me totally screw up and try to make her a dark elf.

#8

More lighting etc…bout to rough in background and hair.

#9

Another update after a quick lunch.

#10

And now I’m gonna take a break, step away from it for a few hours and come back later tonight.

Starting to get cross eyed!

#11

Still going…

#12

Ok last update for tonight. Not going to pick this back up until tomorrow. grin

#13

Thank god for photoshop. After re-arranging half her face so she wasn’t at such an “angle” I think I can finally call this piece done. What do you guys think?

And Merry Christmas!

#14

mm…I think you got a great use of colors but you can improve the anatomy of your characters. Why don’t you partecipate to Rebeccak’s workshops and exercises in the anatomy forum? Maybe it can be helpful and especially FUN

Looking forward for updates,
Serena.

#15

Thank you Serena! =)

I posted another portrait in the paintover thread but it did not occur to me to check the anatomy thread. I’ll have to check it out today.

Thanks again!

#16

Moving on =)
Another random portrait. Perhaps of a gypsy girl. Not sure yet, lets see where this one takes me. lol.

Thanks everyone for your support!

#17

Well, you have got a great understainding of light

#18

it looks good, but I think there are too much " color Dodge " of lighting on her right side. but the rendering is good

#19

uhm…try to add a simple texture on her gauze and with this play with ‘transparency’ and shadows on the right side

#20

Thanks guys. :bounce:

I’ll push this image further later today. I took a day off yesterday to run some errands. :scream:
