Beast of Buuuuurden -character entry

#1

I know that this entry is very late but I thought I would enter it anyway. My entry is an insect/robot. Its job is to carry heavy loads across terrain that would be otherwise impassable. The bug itself will have a couple more segments than I have drawn. That is why I have included an early ‘conceptual’ sketch. This will be my first attempt at modeling and rigging a character so bare with me. All comments and critiques are welcome. rmi

Detailed view of the bug.

#3

Detailed view of the mechanism that will be attached to the bugs back. In other words it is his Buuuuurden.

First image of the shell under construction. It is coming extremely slow but I am learning alot. Feel free to make comments even though there isn’t much here.

looking sweet dude. You might want to think about moving that light around to the front so we can see the detailz. Looking forward to seeing all those mechanical arms and such!!

#6

Progress is getting there but extremely slow. I increased the light value a little to much but I have to run so here it is. As always crits are always welcome.

Looks good so far…let’s see those crazy arms and that wicked head get modeled! Lots of detail that I’m looking forward to seeing…:buttrock:

it’s looking good so far…i think you need a lot more substance if you want people to reply though, especially in a forum with so many entries…charge on!

:hmm:

#11

maybe what you should do is rough model the whole body and then detail it afterwards…

Great idea. I think this whole thing is a learning process. I am getting faster every time I sit down and work on it. It is amazing how little you get done when you work on it less than an hour a day. :thumbsdow

Thanks for the input…Hopefully you will see more progress over the next couple of days.!!

an hour a day is a start, rome wasn’t built in a day my friend!

(of course an hour for some of these people is nothing)
