Beast of Burdon-character/contraption-otacon

#1

Alright. Its my first challenge, so I hope I can at least finish it. Heres my idea for a character. Im still working on the head and arms, so if you have any suggestions on how they should look, or any other part of the model, im open for suggestions.

UPDATE…:wip: hmmmm…no replies yet:cry: …o well, i guess theres not much to crit…yet. Started working on the arms, probably gonna make the legs bigger, they look very small compared to the arms. Im still open for suggestions.:bounce:

#3

looks quite good now. I love those feet. Maybe you use something similar for the hands, like irregular/deformed fingers, giving it more the look of a wild beast.
Keep the good work

#4

Thanks. The hands are definately gonna be something irregular.:insane:

#5

Head in progress…:wip:

#6

Put on the arms…Im not really liking the legs, so ill probably change them some…Im trying to get an idea together for the contraption. Ill try working the details later for this guy. Still gotta finish the head too.

Some more replies would be nice…its getting lonely in here.

#7

Small update. Im not a really fast modeler like some in here. I worked a little more on the head, and removed those spiney things on his back. Still gotta work out the details…but hey…i got a month so im takin my time.

#8

Heres a small sketch i put together just to give an idea of what im going for…I still could use some replies btw:surprised …I guess no one likes my idea:shrug: …anything would be nice…even harsh criticism.

#9

forgot the pic…

#10

yeah ,i think its a good idea ,and the face is going good but they need some more refinement ,especially for the eye

#11

Thanks for the reply Gabe. Ill definately work on the face some more.

#12

Oh, just found this thread…so darn many to read :surprised

I like the sketch that’s pretty cool. Your model is coming along great. I think overall the proportions look good. The back legs don’t seem too smal from my POV. It’s lacking in detail, but like you said, we have a month that’s plenty of time to add that kinds stuff in.

The early bird may catch the worm, but that doesn’t mean the early worm is any good to eat.

#13

Very true. SOOOOOOOOOOOO many threads to read. Like I said, detail will come into play a little later on down the road, and im gonna try to have plenty of detail, since this is a modeling challenge. Thx for the reply btw, it is hard to read em all.

#14

I finished the bulk of the beast, and now im gonna have to concentrate on details before i begin making the contraption. Heres what i got so far.:wip:

#15

:lightbulb I thought up this idea just as i was about to fall asleep, so i had to get up and do a quick sketch before i forgot.:insane:

#16

Hey that’s not a bad idea! Have them play tug-of-war as a spectator sport for their owners. Very cool.

#17

pose…

#18

Heres a pose of the two beasts with the harness thing drawn in. I still dont know about the contraption, its kind of plain. I might try working on a few and see what works.

#19

Did a little more work(not much though:D ) on this guy. Started on the harness, but im still trying to think up a good idea for the contraption. Any ideas, suggestions…? Havent heard a peep out of anyone for a while now.

Maybe instead of just a ring suspended in the middle you could have some heavy platform type thing with the cables coming from the beasts attached to a sort of spring device. It could be some sort of a judges platform for the pulling contest. It could be suspended in the air by the tension in the cables attaching the beasts.
